search function

I am searching for a thread/poll I started in Gen Discussion that was entitled 'what campaign setting do you use?" or something like that.

I did several searches using simple words like setting, campaign, etc.

I havne't had any luck, but I noticed some wierd results. I noticed that I a search for the word 'setting' in threads would have loads of hits from about Jan-May 2002 but virtually none from June-Dec 2002. I think I did the thread I"m looking for in that period. I've searched using both the '6 months and older' and '1 year and older' option.

Yea, we noticed that a while back. They need to do a re-index apparently. Guess they haven't done that yet. Probably one of those 10-hour tasks.

John, it's really easy to find a thread when you know who started it - and without using search, even! Set threads displayed to an appropriate length of time and then sort by thread starter. Head to the "J"s, and there you are.

And yes, we have to reindex. It just takes freakin' forever to do.

Found it using PC's suggestion.

DO you know how many threads I've started?

trentonjoe Goblin Sharpshooter (Lvl 2)
I have had similar problems. I like to run searchs on myself, I'll search for trentonjoe, to see what threads I was interested in or started. The last time I did it I got one from today and then the next one was from may.

Am I doing something wrong?
