I think all it does is send an e-mail to the moderators assigned to the forum.

Hrumph. You younguns got it so easy. In my day, it would done all that, and dropped them naked into a pit full of eels, sent an elite ninja squad over to their house to put bamboo under their fingernails, and awakened the Tarrasque. You kids got it so easy.
