[RPG] Possible Item Bug

I was donated a unicorn with Devil's Might. I already owned a unicorn without an upgrade.

On my inventory screen where I can equip and unequipped things I see two unicorns without an upgrade but on the character stats page it shows both unicorns as they should be. No matter which one I equip I get a unicorn without an upgrade.

I was also sent a knuckle-duster with a different upgrade then the one I had. It showed me two knuckle-dusters with the older upgrade. I then attempted to donate one of them and it ended up sending both of them to the person.

I'm guessing the program is having a problem figuring out the difference between two items. Any ideas?

The program won't normally let you buy two identical items, it's almost certainly not programmed to let you have them, the auction/donation should probably be forbidden until you lose the duplicate.

The thing is you can't just lose the duplicate. If you toss the duplicate you lose both items.

It should either prevent us from getting the second item or make other changes. I have a feeling that would be a major update though.
