Resolution woes on the boards

Browsing at home, where I have 800x600 is a real drag lately on these boards. Almost all of the quoted sections of posts go off the edge (with no option to scroll sideways) and a fair amount of the time the actual new content does as well. Why are the boards set up for a higher resolution than that? According to the latest research I've seen, a good 40% or so of users have 800x600 or less resolution.

I use 800 x 600 myself, but I haven't had too many troubles here.

(The stats for my website indicate a much lower percentage than 40% using 800x600, though).

Yeah, 800x400 is a very low percentage. Certainly not 40%!

That said, I just checked, and it looks fine in my browser at that resolution. Very strange.

Hmm, do you use the most current version of your chosen browser? I've noticed a similar problem with an old version of IE.

Not likely; I use the version that came with the PC, and it's four years old now. That could be the problem.
