If you can't make resolutions, than having goals is definitely a good idea. Good on you mega.
Unpack that scale Danny! The only way to know you're losing weight is to check it daily.
Weighing everyday is not the best idea. Weight goes up and down. Some could give up if the scale goes up 1 or 2 pounds. Best to weigh 1 day a week on the same day.

I'm doing great on the exercise part of my resolution (22 days in a row so far!). I'm doing so-so with my diet resolution. I'm doing poorly with my D&D-related resolution (I'm having trouble coming up with stuff for my current campaign and that's making me want to quit instead of try harder). I'm doing so-so with other items on my list. The exercise one was my most important one - resisting the urge to hibernate during Jan and Feb is really important to my mental health in wintertime.

Actually, in the case of a sodium-dependent hypertensive- especially one as bad as I am- daily weigh-ins are actually pretty good.
A sodium-dependent hypertensive who gets too much salt on a given day can bloat as much as 8-16 pounds in a day or 2 if he's not monitoring his weight, because the salt makes them drink, which they then retain.
And unfortunately, you can't just stop your salt intake and drop that weight. Part of the problem is that your kidneys just aren't processing properly, so it may take you days or weeks what you put on in hours.
Fortunately...I'm nearing the end of the renovation, so soon, my scale will be back in business!
