Tell me about the Indianapolis area!

So, my employer has indicated that they are soliciting volunteers to move to a new office in the Indy area.

The only things I know about Indianapolis are:

* - Home of the Indy 500 and Colts
* - Home of GenCon Indy
* - It's full of Hoosiers
* - Cost of living is well below where I live now

I would take a slight pay cut, but it's promised that it's far, far cheaper to live there, and I have noticed that I'd pay half of what I do now for my efficiency for (say) a 2BR, but I'd need a car, which would likely cut a serious dent in my freed-up income.

So, ENworlders, tell me, what else about Indy is worth my potentially moving there?

Brad

The people are awesome. Moving back to Southern Illinois from Baltimore would be very similar to your move, however, you'll be near a modern city with all the convenieces. Pace of life is a little more laid back and other than that, you'll just have to experience it. You'll be in "hick" country compared to what you're used to and in the buckle of the Bible belt, not sure if that will affect you, but you should know; but since that's an individual thing, I can't really say how you'll adjust, however you can walk the streets at night in MOST neighborhoods, try THAT in DC. Good luck

On one hand, taking away their weapons is a dead giveaway that they will need them. On the other hand, by the time conflict starts the players will already have opened the rulebooks and found the parts that deal with bare-handed combat, performing disarm moves, and using improvised weapons. Players may blunder through dialog with shocking ineptitude, forget the name of the country they are in, or get confused about which side they are on, but once it comes time to roll for initiative they all turn into Sun Tzu. - Shamus Young DM of the Rings
