Folks at work told me about this but I doubted it. Then I looked it up. Found the body and retrieved it. Photo included.
They found it in Georgia? That's a tad far afield from Bigfoot's usualy stomping ground of the Pacific Northwest.

Although many would regard the Bigfoot as mythical, enthusiasts were given more reason to believe in October last year when hunter Rick Jacobs claimed to have taken photos of a Bigfoot in Pennsylvania.
Yeah, right. I live in PA, and Bigfoot ain't here. He probably saw a bear, there's lots of them around. Or maybe my sister's ex-in-laws.

Before I finally got the picture to appear (slow internet) I suspected something was wrong. The creatures are very social and would NEVER leave their dead out for someone to find, much less take.
If you are wondering, yes, I do believe they exist. It just sucks when jerks like these try to gain money / fame from exploiting them. I almost wish they do find a body and truely attempt to even get near to it......
If only BigFoot would come out of hiding and place a restraining order on Tom Bascardi. His bigfoot hunting related scams are getting annoying.
Based on some of my readings with the TRUE bigfoot researchers, these guys are washed up and the corrections officer may not have a job when he returns. One can only hope....
See, somebody needs to do a really good Bigfoot hoax, like dressing up in a Bigfoot suit and getting photographed by Bigfoot researchers while sitting on a portable toilet in the middle of the woods reading an issue of The Economist.

Oh, come on. That's so implausible, nobody'd believe it!
Everyone know that bigfoots (bigfeet?) read National Geographic.

There are reports of Bigfoot-like hominids* on the East Coast, too. About a month ago, the Washington Citypaper did a nice piece on a guy who's looking for them in the more rural parts of Virginia, and apparently something's taking his bait and avoiding his cameras.

They can be found in any area that gives shelter, solitude and food resources. The NE is the most common and abundant of these. But far from limited to there.
There is activity about an hour from my house but the locals are very protective of them. Some do true expeditions (for a few hundred bucks of course) each year. of the three trips I know of, two were uneventful but one has tracks, howls and answered tree thumping.
Though I want proof of their existance (if only to stop the ribbing of my belief in them) I wish no harm of them and generally they leave you alone unless they feel threatened and even then give PLENTY of warning first. Warnings consist of rock throwing, nasty smells, howls and something I can only describ as a physic fear. As a victum of this fear effect I can only say it is overwhelming and unexplainable.
I'll explain as best as I can what happened (before EN World locks up on me again).
There is a favorite spot I used to get a drink of water when biking around my college. It is out of the way and can only be accessed from a long heavily wooded trail. It leads to a deep but narrow cold water spring.
One day I decided I wanted a drink. I got maybe 2/3 of the way down when suddenly all the hairs stood up on my neck and I had an overwhelming need to flee. At the age of 21 I felt I needed to flee. To top it off it was about 2pm- not dark or anything like that. I argued in my mind whether to walk down or turn away for about 10 seconds. Then like a child I took one step forward then turned and bolted back to mu bike and fled the scene.
I can not explain it. I felt that if I went any further down something very very very bad was going to happen to me.
It was not until about ten years later I learned of the activity in that region at the exact same year and time of year. Someday I want to revisit it but now find I can not locate the entrance to the path. I assume it has overgrown vs I am subconscienously blocking it of my mind.
PS
Reading this before hitting reply I relieze how strange this sounds. I can not give words to explain how I truely felt terrorified that if I went down that path something was going to happen. Something was there. Its irrational but it happened.
