I'm at a loss for words. I feel like there is a word that means, roughly, 'when people move quickly into or through an area, kicking the butts of all who stand in their way.'
The particular use I'm looking for is that in the final adventure of War of the Burning Sky, I'm working on a revision of a scene to give it a little more epic oomph: the heroes tear through a whole palace full of armed guards, fighting their way to the throne room. Is there a good single word for this, or has the English language failed me yet again?

For a while I was thinking of the word 'barnstorm,' which I thought referred to flying a plane through an open barn, which was awesome. But apparently it refers to hosting an airshow by a barn, or to driving around the countryside and putting on impromptu political shows.

I'd say Crusade fits the situation better than rampage unless the players are really sloppy. It is kinda short to be called a crusade, though it might not feel to short with how 3E encounters can drag.
crusade (krū-sād')
n.
1. often Crusade Any of the military expeditions undertaken by European Christians in the 11th, 12th, and 13th centuries to recover the Holy Land from the Muslims.
2. A holy war undertaken with papal sanction. 3. A vigorous concerted movement for a cause or against an abuse. See synonyms at campaign.
