"I'm sure it'll be enough information to send others after us," says Slip simply enough. "And, in some cases, a detail description is much more useful than a name."
"More information is always useful." adds the warforged before he confirms his meaning. "The Anvil will be as good as a starting point as any."
His excitement seemingly having run out of steam, Nevin simply shrugs.
I mean only that we need exercise caution and felt the need to inform you of the disadvantage we suffer. As our recent visit from our clandestine friend has so poignantly driven home, the facts here are pointing toward more than simple murder. Obviously there are interested parties on both the side of perpetrator and victim. Anyway I agree, let us see what there is to be said at this Broken Anvil.

"Since I do not require sleep," says Slip. "I could go observe the Broken Anvil until our meeting tomorrow, thus, if it is a trap, we should be better prepared for it."
Bad non-living thing sent message to other bad people or things? This mean other bad people come after us? Was hooded man a bad person? Where is Broken Anvil and is we going there?

"Wow! This is so awesome! First we see a dead body then the warforged and now this! I hope they serve breakfast. In the Korranberg Chronicle they often say adventurers begin their quests at taverns. I wonder if this is the beginning of our quest?"
Gus takes a breath.
"And that flying thing. It popped off and whizzed away. I wonder who is seeing. I wonder how they see what it has seen. I wonder who it is? Could be a foriegn spy? Maybe the scarey guy that lives in the Mournlands... you know... that warforged guy. Some adventurers that visited my parents shop once said they saw him. I think they lied. No one sees him and lives. I've heard he is over ten feet tall and made of purest admantine! Can you imagine that!"
Gus rambles on looking forward to learning more about this mystery. He mentions mediating on the subject as he scurries to his room at his parent's shop.

If I'm laying it too thick just let me know. As I'm reading this I keep thinking Kender which is not what I trying for...

Kyl shrugged, indifferent to the whole situation. "So this thing tranports images. Assuming it shows the last thing the now deceased warforged saw, wouldn't it be limited to a raging shifter?" He paused a moment as if considering his own words for the first time, "If so it could easily be dismissed by the viewer. If they do come after our friend, and do not know about us, then perhaps the odds weigh in our favor?"
See, I would just as soon believe that since warforged were thought of as basically chattel before the Treaty of Thronehold that House Cannith didn't let many warforged see the light of day until they were ready to be sold. At best, I can understand that many warforged might have seen the sign of House Cannith, but I doubt most would automatically understand what it means. Even the populace at large doesn't know who built the warforged; they just assume big important magical people did it. They could care less which noble house or country. As a compromise, how about we say Slip recognizes the symbol automatically, but doesn't know what it stands for... yet.

In most cases your Galifaran Scholar feat will operate for Knowledge (nobility & royalty) checks since the Kingdom of Galifar was the foundation of all modern noble houses.
OOC to all
Practically all of you were in plain view of the warforged before she fell, so any number of you could be incriminated. Also, at least two of you attacked her. Even psionics has mental cues as to where the attack originated from and only master psionicists are able to control those cues perfectly.
Just let me know when you are ready to head to the Broken Anvil. It looks like you are having a lively discussion.
OOC: I thought it was still the middle of the night so I was plasnning to have Talakhad head back home and then join the others at the Broken Anvil, but if it is almost morning we might as well just go straight to the anvil.

Gus will go home, gather up a few goodies including note taking stuff. He will meditate and think about how LUCKY he is and how his KNOWLEDGE of many things will keep him helpful and aware for the next day's adventures. After sleeping, he has breakfast with his mother as the father prepares his show. With great energy and slight improvements (for the sake of the story of course) he tells his mother about the prior night.
She worries a bit about this but he is a grown man and can make his own decisions. When asked she had no idea what a warforged could do otherthan they are mechanical and magical weapons that have limited thinking ability and doesn't trust them. Gus tries to defend the warforge but gets on a tanget about three sentences into it. After breakfast he gets up to go. He lets her know that he may not be back until late or even the next day. If longer, he will try to get word to them either through normal means or House Sivis.
Gus almost skips out the door with enthusiasm and joy.

After a little more back and forth with his companions Nevin set out into the night. Walking home through the dark streets he kept looking over his shoulder. He could not shake the thought that some sinister organization knew his face and might even be looking for him in some deranged quest for revenge. Logically he knew there was little danger outside of the normal ones the city offered, but logic was rarely the bearer of comfort. Thoroughly soaked and in a considerably grimmer mood than he began the evening, he finally arrived back at his rented space near Morgrave.
After a night of fitful rest Nevin awoke to a pounding headache, he felt like the lightning rail had taken a detour through his skull. Squinting, he looked around the dim room and tried to recall the night before. After a few moments of ponderous thought it started to come back to him. With a groan he pulled himself from the bed and stumbled across the room, he had to get ready for this meeting at the Broken Anvil. Sitting at a small table in the room's single chair he flipped through a well worn volume, a jumbled collection of odd notes, strange scrawlings, impossible diagrams, and other bits of collected and complicated arcana. His head nearly revolted as he tried to take in difficult text. Focus, he told himself, you have to be ready.
After grueling minutes he finally put the book down. With a pre-dawn weariness he dressed and made his preperations for the day. This better be good, he told himself. Nevin checked his spell components and tucked that wand he'd been saving in his belt. Eyeing the crossbow sitting in the corner he finally shook his head, why did he buy that thing, like he could really trapse across Sharn toting that. Slipping out of his apartment he quietly made his way down to the street. After much walking and many promises to himself to never drink again he finally arrived at the Broken Anvil. Standing there in front of that Tavern he felt curiosity beginning to push aside his misery. Time to find out what this was all about.
Kyl didn't worry too much about things, it just wasn't his style. He woke a full hour before dawn, and managed to blindly find his way to the tavern just as the others were entering. He always had been terrible with directions...........
Kazmir catches a few hours of sleep in what barely passes as a room he rents. Just before first light, he will go out and wolf down a quick meal before heading for the Broken Anvil.
After several wrong turns, he gets directions to the Broken Anvil and arrives just before dawn. He spots some of his companions going inside.
Upon seeing the last of his comrades arrive, Slip will make his way into the Broken Anvil, giving his friends a reassuring nod, indicating that things, 'look clear.'
