"The name is Immarael." the Eladrin states matter-of-factly. "I was helping to escort the last of our caravan's goods when we were accosted by these black clad ruffians. Then, who I will assume was a Cowled Wizard, stopped by to mete out justice in its own special not-caring-about-casualties-as-long-as-the-problem-is-stopped method. It is by he grace of Corellan that I still breathe."
He turns to Soveliss and says solemnly "I am sorry for the loss. If that is there method then you can count them as no friends of mine, and I will be more than happy to help you bring them to justice. My blade is competent and I will do what I can for you."
Helping as he can with the rites, he tells a story of each person as he knows to help to ensure the ritual knows who we are talking about and to help the process have more meaning. When that is done he says "Thank you so very much for your service to my fellow Dalelanders. This is the least that they deserve... to be safely sent home to their Queen. I am in your debt."
He clears his throat before changing the subject "If you have leads already to find them, I can start with those or, if you give me a descriptions of these nefarious creatures I can try to work my magic - figuratively speaking , of course, and meet up with you at 'S' as well." he says carefully while looking around playfully and nervously at the same time.
[OOC: I would have posted this yesterday, but my browser ate my post. Bad browser. Bad!!
I was originally speaking the the Deva because his words were drench in religious sentiment, however if the cleric was obviously clerical, that would do as well. He will not care, as long as things get done. =)
Immarael the eldarin sorceror, Julian the halfelf bard, Gredel the shifter cleric
After the proper rites were conduced, the newly formed group parts ways again.
Immarael, Julian, Gredel, the big man, and another one puled the cart through the dusty and populated streets of the commercial district of the Amnian capital city. The scorching sun, and the crowded markets made the task drowning, at best.
The sweaty group gets to the tavern of the Singing sparrow, and are greet by a rather fat (which one isn't?) barkeeper. “I see you’ve bring your most refined beer! So wonderful.” But then the man notices the burns on the wagon, which still smells like a bonfire. “Oh my, seems you’d some troubles on your way here. I’m sure you are more than willing to return to your country, here’s your pay.” The man delivers a bulky sack of coins. “My guys will take care of those barrels. Why don’t you come in and enjoy a beer?” he asks.
Soveliss the eldarin warlord, and Red the elven invoker
Soveliss and Red are about to depart, after watching the others disappear in the crowded commercial district, when another elf, and a grin looking deva approach, whit unknown intentions.
Red
There's something odd, and at the same time, familiar about that Deva.
Orin the Deva avenger, Twiix the shifter warden and Taran the elven druid.
“I think you should investigate and locate the druids after you get the plant and the items that were entrusted to us. In the mid time, I’ll return to the groove, and tell the elders about our failure. Maybe they’ll give me another piece of the strange plant.” The shifter offers. “Take care of yourself brother” and with a wink, the shifter disappears among the peoples of Athkatla.
After Twiix departure, the pair keep moving towards the gate from which the blast came.
After almost been ran over by a cart, they reach the gate, were an eldarin and an elf of red hair stand. They look at you quizzically.
Orin
Something in your mind tickles. Your vision blurs and you experience a memory flashback:
Quote:
Darkness, darkness all around. Only the sparks of the steel meeting steel lighten the scene. Cut after cut, you kill your attackers, while tring to prevent them from getting to your protegee. But they were too much, you watch as the red haired elf casts her spells over one of your enemies, but she couldn’t see what you saw. From behind her, the flash of a magical dagger, disappearing in her back. The scream of pain an agony, tearing your mind apart. And your enemies, surrounding you... the last image is the lifeless face of the elven woman.
Your vision became normal again, and that same face is staring at you.

Red had been quiet, disappointed that she had been unable to contribute to the gathering that had seemed to almost have a will of its own. "Well, I had thought that would have been a lot more interesting, Soveliss, is it?" Red spoke aloud to the eladrin, glancing at him then back to the road "Should we look elsewhere for those thugs? Or . . . hrm . . . ."
It had been weeks since anything had been different in her life, and now two strange things in one afternoon. "You look horribly familiar," Red offered to the approaching deva, doubt clear in her voice.
Orin's face is downcast, his color even more lifeless than normal. "You look familiar... but I've seen so many people through the years." Orin tries to avoid eye contact but will generally try to stay near Red, just off to the side.
Grendel looks to the other two before him and smiles a bit.... Do you think we have time for a... beer... as this person calls it.. I've never had one before but it sounds rather refreshing!.... I think I'll try one if we have time! the naive cleric utters softly and joyfully as he looks to his companions for a definitive answer.

Realization at what she had actually asked the Deva, then embarassment at her stupidity shone clearly on her face. "I'm terribly sorry," Red explained apologetically, "I should have realized . . . so many lifetimes for you . . . I can only explain that I don't really remember anything for the last few weeks, and I tend to grasp at straws at the tiniest hint of familiarity or difference for the utterly boring lifestyle I've had the last few weeks and while that's alright sometimes it just gets to me and I'm rambling on like some blabbermouthed idiot so I'll shut up now . . . sorry again . . . beer sounds good."
Immarael solemnly accepts the gold, then looks to Grendel and says "How much would be sufficient for your most generous services, friend."
He looks to Julian and Grendel "It sounds like we have people to hunt down too. Perhaps you can get one to go and then we can start to find your thugs."
[OOC: Streetwise rolls: 20, 22, 20 (from the previous post or I can roll again)
He is also going to be thinking of a way to get this rest of this gold back to the Dales to who it belongs.]
Grendel looks at Immarael as if he was surprised by his question at hand...
My good man.. I only did what anyone of faith in any deity would do.... at most I will ask for some money for lodging tonight when we do settle down.. and maybe a little more for some of this... beer... as the man calls it... otherwise no recompense is needed my friend.... the shifter said in yet again the most proper of voice and mannerism.
This.. beer... thing can wait.... lets find who we have to find then shall we... really I have nothing else much more important to do... and if I make a name for myself here in town.. then it will make it easier for me to open routes of trade here for my tribe!... yes.. SPLENDID! Lets be off then!.... Grendel said as he waited impatiently for Immarael's cue to move on!

Immarael smiles happily at the shifter's response thinking to himself 'This is my kind of cleric. If only the Autumn Court's workings were full of him, life would have been so much better for everyone.'.
He smiles broadly, extending his hand, and says "Fair enough, my friend. Let us find some ruffians.". The Eladrin motions towards the door, looks to Julian, nods and then makes his way for the hunt.
ruffians it is then! the shifter barked as he waited for Immarael to take point.... he was after all just along for the ride... apprently somehow though the shifter blood called to him for action... and his taught side and animalistic side were at war with each other... in an oddly sophisticated way in fact....

Julian, having been quiet for too long, finally chimed in with Immarael's nod, responding "Well, I'm in. If anything I can make for a great distraction" Julian gave his usual grin. "And plus, I fear death from stagnation might come upon me if I stay here." With that, Julian followed Immarael out the door and out to the streets beyond.
As the scene unfurled around him Soveliss stood still until only a few remained. The redheaded Elf seemed disappointed by the chase coming to a crawl in a way when a Deva and another elf came in their direction. The young elven maiden seemed a bit out of sorts trying to recognize the Deva but she might have been mistaken. His mannerisms said otherwise though. For now Soveliss would dismiss this as the redhead elf mentioned getting a beer. She was either a little embarassed or wanted something in front of her mouth to stop herself from talking it seemed. Soveliss smiled inwardly before remembering the site of the ashed ruins.
"If you'd like a beer or need some time to relax that's fine with me... Actually I don't think I ever asked your name. In any event though I need to find those two arsonists if I'm going to be able to function normally again." he stated breaking away from the group, "My name is Soveliss by the way." he simply said with a half smirk. He'd head off in the direction that the two had supposedly gone. In the back of his mind he wondered if he would make it to work tomorrow if he chased them all through the night... at this point he was kind of surprised at himself since in a way he didn't care.
(OoC: Didn't notice we're back in it again. DX Short post also.)
Keeping alert, the young elven woman simply glanced around the small group as the one called Soveliss spoke, introducing himself. "Oh . . . right . . . sorry . . . they call me 'Red', so I guess that would work for you as well. I mean if you want to call me that. Guess it's better than 'hey you'," Red offered, before quieting again, trying not to ramble. "Finding the arsonists works for me," the elven woman pipped in.

We'll be fine unless we hit combat and then I think we'll be a bit light in a few areas now heh.... but until then we'll be fine as beach sand I do believe

The trio waves goodby to the man that helped them with the cart, and to the barkeeper. "Come again when your hunting's done." he says before getting into his establishment.
The group walks the streets of the amnian capital, peering into the alleys and dark corners of the buildings, making their way to the south, to the reunion point established by Soveliss.
As you turn the last corner to the tavern of the Shifting sands, you see two men, fitting the description given by the eldarin. One of the is looking around furtively, while the other is picking a lock. In that moment, Sovelis, Red and Orin appear from the other side of the street.
Soveliss, Red and Orin
After discussing the best course of action, and before retaking the search for the two ruffians, Taran goes silently in trance, and after a few seconds, his eyes open again, glitering in green. The elf raise his hand "I'm sorry, my people need me. We'll meet again" and with that he takes his leave.
The eldarin and the elf are left alone with the strange looking Deva, who stays quite near Red. He has lost his aim now, with the shifter and the elf gone, but he has found someone much more important. The wisdom of the priest of Aumator was great indeed.
The three made their way to the south, searching for any track or clue of the ruffians. You find a set of footprints of blood, leading towards a narrow alley. You are quite close to the Shifting sands tavern now.
As you turn the corner, you see two men, the ones that you are looking for. One of the is looking around furtively, while the other is picking a lock. In that moment, Julian, Grendel and Immarael appear from the other side of the street.
OOC: Express your actions. It's obvious that there are only two courses of action.

Orin, unable to speak the words to acknowledge that this is the elf who he thought had died under his protection. He draws his blade and looks to block any approaching in anger.
