No offense, buddy, but ... what the heck? I thought we established - when I asked about this very question - that all doorways represented initially closed doors. Ah well ...

ooc: What doorways are there in the dining room, and are they closed or open? BTW a similar question will always apply to any room Sam can see.
My question about showing what's on the map also specifically stated doorways.
In light of that, and also since in the first room you told us in text about the open doorway, and since we would be able to see into the next room if there is an open doorway yet you did not describe the next room, it's unreasonable for you to think that we might have suspected that just because there was no dashed line on the map that it might possibly have been an open doorway. Much more plausible was that it was an oversight by you.
Leif, I pointed out that one thing was wrong. A relatively minor thing. And I said it within private sblocks.
I certainly hope you don't give up because of this.
DMing isn't easy. (I hope you remember that if I screw up something in X4!) But it can be rewarding - the game is largely under your control; the players are not but they play with the toys you bring up.
ooc: I have been enjoying this game. Leif, you're doing a good job, though there were some minor glitches that should now be corrected. I certainly hope you continue.

The group of adventurers has searched the dining room. Off the short 5-foot wide entry into this room there are two doors, one to the north and one to the south. In the room proper there are also two doors: a double door to the north, and a door to the west. To the east is an open doorway that leads into the living room. The door to the west is a swinging affair of the type commonly associated with 'kitchen doors'. Through the open doorway (still no door!) to the east, and across the living room, you can see a stairway leading up to the mansion's upper floor levels. If you'll remember, Londar's mansion is constructed like a tower with a house extending out from the lower level. You are in the 'house' part now, and the back of the building is the "tower" part.
"I'm anxious to explore the tower of this revered and experienced mage..... staying in the house part of this place seems futile... it's too hard to take a defensible position down here... I vote we head up through the tower..... yays?... nays?...." the grey elf said softly choosing not to remain his quiet self anymore.....

Laz too takes his careful time feeling about the masterfully worked stone of the staircase to the tower of the rainbow mage..... quickly he searches about with eyes ears and smell before casting a simple orison to be able to detect magical auras....
Blade will continue to watch the rear while the others ascend the staircase, wishing to be beside them, but tempering his anxiousness with the knowledge that he can be there in the blink of an eye if the situation requires it. He turns to the mage next to him, "Do not worry even though you won't be able to see me doesn't mean I'm not around." Blade whispers, then melts into the shadows even while Vaidun watches him.

Nilah continued looking about himself, his vision primed for magicks as he looked about. His skills at searching and spotting weren't particularly good... but he still tried...
