Race/Class Combination That Should Never Have Happened...

Have you ever had a joke that just expands into something far more than it ever should have been?

My friend and I were joking about some absurd class/race combinations for 3rd edition D&D when he brainstormed the idea for a Kobold Samurai.

We laughed ourselves silly at the thought of it and I told him that I'd run a session with the character only if he drew a picture of it. 15 minutes later, he handed me the sketch. The best part was, his little doodle kicked ass.

I was so impressed with it that I scanned it in and decided to paint it up in Photoshop. Now I've got a pretty decent painting of a very crazy idea. Oh well, I'm oddly proud of it. Sometimes the best work comes from just fooling around and being relaxed. I hope you all get a kick out of it. The flexibility of the D&D 3e system in action:

Don't be dissin' no Kobold. I love'm Kobolds. A kobold samuri would kick (though I'd prefer a Kobold paladin, bard, cleric/barbarian or wizard).

But, to go along with the joke..

A kobold Bard/Barbarian focusing on Intimidation and Diplomacy.

A Goblin Aristocrat.

A Minotaur Loremaster.

A Gnomish Frenzied Berzerker.

Halfling Drunken Boxer (Drunken Midget fighting!)
