Thank you Hand of Vecna and A2Z (lol). Anyway, Hand of Vecna....Is there a site I could look at to get a descripton of the names you listed and where did you get the names you listed?

Most of what he listed are the names of the specialist wizards in the PHB. Some of the others are names given to wizards in different campaign settings such as Al'Qadim.

or you might take a look at the Player Option: Spell and Magic, a book for magic user in 2nd edition (in that you could find some not yet named spell caster: alienist, chaneller, force-mage, artificer, etc...) it cover almost all spell caster for AD&D.

Yes, most of what I listed are titles given for each level of the Magic-User class from AD&D 1st Ed. (back then, almost every level of every class had it's own title). However, if you want some real thorough help, however, I'd point you to the AvatarSearch SearchEngine for the Occult Internet...

Well, if you are just looking for new names, you could try Roget's or your favorite thesarus. The thesarus in my (ancient) copy of Word has these for magician:
conjurer
sorcerer
wizard
shaman
charmer
diviner
enchanter
seer
soothsayer

Granted, some of these aren't strictly magic users, but they are some other options.
