Precis Intermedia announces the
Ancient Odysseys series of Fantasy Roleplaying games. Ancient Odysseys takes you back to the core of fantasy games: dungeon-crawling. It's retro, but not a clone. It's easily expanded, but requires only a single book to play. It's designed for beginners, yet perfect for veteran gamers looking for a fast-playing, flexible roleplaying experience or to satisfy retro-fantasy cravings.
Ancient Odysseys consists of two separate, but similar games. The first is called
Treasure Awaits! and serves as an introduction to fantasy roleplaying that lets the reader start playing in less than ten minutes. Treasure Awaits can be played with or without a gamemaster's direction, and even supports solitaire play. Quick and easy conflict resolution requires only a six-sided die. Experience perilous traps, vicious monsters, toxic poisons, powerful magics, and valuable treasures in an affordable package.
Advanced Ancient Odysseys is based on the
genreDiversion 3E mechanics, offering extensive flexibility, customization, and miniatures-support. While it is more detailed than Treasure Awaits!, it is not overly-detailed. It provides a wider variety of character types, expanded combat rules like diplomacy and issuing commands to animal companions, divine and infernal magics, four types of wizardry magics, the ability to exploit successes, and more.
Treasure Awaits! is in final playtesting and will be released first. Advanced Ancient Odysseys will be released later. Both versions will be affordable and complete, requiring no further materials for play. Both versions will be released as digital downloads (PDF), web documents (Flash), and printed books. Visit the
