This thread will be for discussion of meals. We'll provide dinner Saturday night -probably something from the grill. This would be a good place to post if there is something you know you want to bring. We suggest if you have snack / beverage / liquor preferences you bring them. We'll get bagels but anything else breakfast related would be good to bring.
We'll get to this thread as we get closer to the gameday.
Right now we're thinking BBQ food would be the easiest and cheapest- probably hot dogs, hamburgers and some sort of chicken, probably pieces. So stuff that goes with that is good! I have a good pasta salad recipe otherwise I'm open to what to have with it. If pasta salad is easy to bring, someone can bring that and I'll think of something else, maybe regular salad - OMG gamers eating salad!! lol. Baked beans are very easy but giving beans to gamers - ohhhh mannn. I'm just kidding. I'm open to any and all suggestions and also please let me know if you have special food needs.
Hamburgers
Hot Dogs
Chicken of some sort (maybe spiedies!)
Buns for all
Toppings
Baked Beans
Regular tossed salad
Bagels
Butter
Cream Cheese
Juice
We will also provide some soda and dip for whatever chips and pretzels people bring.
Now, we have no trouble picking up snacks and more soda but then donations would be greatly appreciated (gas station and BJ's for the win!). Alternatively, people can bring snacks to share, soda, juice and whatever alcohol they would like to drink Saturday night (if you're drinking). Also additional breakfast stuff is good - there is a Dunkin Donuts around the corner.
Lunch will be fast food from the area, figured out when everyone is here.
So, if you want to bring something for the meal or snacks or drinks, post here and I'll edit this list so we don't have 5 containers of salad
We'll hit the grocery store on the way and get staples. I figure leftovers can be portioned out, and that emergency runs will have to be made during the weekend for more provisions.
Yeah, as long as we have the basics covered we should be fine, there are fast food places, restaurants and grocery stores galore all with a couple of miles of the house.
I hope you're bringing enough to share with everyone!
Of course I am... :geno:
On a for serious note, I don't partake of cheese either, but I certainly won't begrudge anyone else's enjoyment of it.
I'm not 100% sure, but I might bake up a fresh batch of cookies Friday morning; I'll probably be able to grab some chips/soda/etc. either beforehand or on the way, too, if that suits the whims of my chauffeurs. Any particular requests?
Since it looks like I'll get there quite early, let me know if there's anything I'll be able to help you with. I promise not to injure myself with knives!
