Game: Sin City: Missing Persons (working title)
System: Dread
Slot: Saturday AM
Description: It's a hot summer in Sin City and it's not just water that's gone missing without a trace. People have been venturing out into the hot nighttime air and are never seen again come morning.
After another parched day, the sun falls away and a well-dressed, athletic man drives his hot-rod into Old Town with more in mind than just browsing...
For now, the game is for four players, though I'm thinking of adding a fifth if someone wants it.
Characters:
Vance - police detective
Carey - old town prostitute
J.J. - sports star
Deadly Little Miho - old town enforcer
Players:
1. Dire Wolf - J.J.
2. Fraisala - Miho
3. Dovaj - Vance
4.

I've put you down for Vance, but are you ok with playing Carey if need be?
Basically, I need a Carey and J.J. for this game, so if we run with three, I'm going to have to switch either you or Frai to Carey. I'll decide whether Vance or Miho is most expendable as I finish writing the questions over the weekend and ask one of you two to switch. But if you aren't comfortable playing Carey, that's ok, just let me know.
I'll likely have to take Miho out since removing Vance would mean only two speaking characters left, but I'm not 100% sure yet which would work best. Hopefully we'll get another player, but at this point, I'm not sure if there's anyone who hasn't signed up for a game.
Btw, is everyone familiar with the key points of the setting from the movie or comics? Like lots of corruption among cops and politicians, the self-governing nature of Old Town, the truce between the cops and the Old Town girls? I can cobble together a little summary if that'd help answer the questions. I think I covered most of the major points just now too.
And sorry about my absence. Frai and I were moving over the weekend and are waiting to get internet back at home. Usually can't get here from work but somehow make it in today. Verizon is now supposed to come by tomorrow morning and get my phone and DSL fixed, but if not, then I won't have access over the long weekend.
I should have all your emails if they haven't changed, I think..

I will play whatever makes the scenario work. I have no real preference.

Wikipedia has nice little writeups for some of the more popular comic book series out there, which I've found pretty useful for that kind of thing. Lemme see if they've got one for Sin City... ah! looks like we're in luck
No, you didn't miss the questionnaire. I'll be sending those out tonight or tomorrow morning. Sorry for the lack of lead time on that. :-/
Alas, this weekend was a little busier than anticipated and I only managed to get my internet working at home this morning. Ah, the joys of Verizon customer service.

Yep, that page looks pretty good. The movie is pretty faithful to the comics, so that should work fine. The only issue I can see reading that over is I feel it overplays the paramilitary nature of the cops a little much. Yeah, there are plenty of goons in riot gear, but many cops are also equipped more normally. But, yes, the cops are pretty damn corrupt except for a few good seeds.
