Fane of the Forgotten Gods is a set of dungeon tiles produced by Wizards of the Coast for the Dungeons and Dragons role playing game. It is the sixth tile set in this expanding line of accessories. There are no rules at all with the product so they can be used for any RPG that has need of dungeon tiles or even creatively with some miniature game. They are very useful for people that do play D&D and use minis. They can of course be used with any version of the game though it is specifically designed for the third and fourth editions of the game.

The tiles are made out of a good quality card board stock. They can still be damaged so one needs to be careful with them but they do seem to be solid enough to withstand most normal uses. I am a little worried about what would happen if something would spill on them as that can be a more common hazard with gamers. I do not want to potential risk the tiles though to find out how absorbent they are. They are full color and the art work on them is very well done.

There are siz pages of tiles. They are each double sided and that was a brilliant decision. When they are punched out which is a very easy process there are tiles of many sizes. There are fifty seven pieces in here so with them each being double sided it is like having one hundred and fourteen options. I also like that one some it is the same space on each side but one side has a trap sprung or something like that on it.

There are some nice thrones, hallways, stairs, smoky places, a frog statue surrounded by dirt, and a good variety of tiles. There are plenty of them that will have a player worried just because of what they look like. One example of that is a big room that has the floor like a checker board and rooms like that always seem to delay players as they over think the situation. There are some neat looking fountains and one with some broken stone. There are three sample dungeons using these tiles shown on the inside cardboard covers. There is no explanation on what the places are or anything like that just examples on how one can use the tiles. These are nicely done and use many of the pieces they have provided.

Fane of the Forgotten Gods is a nice tile set. It has a good variety of rooms and hallways to enhance ones D&D game. They certainly are not a must have accessory but they have a lot of versatility and prove useful for people that like miniatures and other visual enhancements in their games.
