It may just be me, but certain colors give me certain thoughts or images in my head. Has anyone here ever really used color to set the mood or tine for a their game? Like for instance, to me very vibrant colors such as green, orange, blue, and yellow used with say, a very dark, almosy black purple invokes an almost dreamlike sense in me. While more drab colors like grey, black, and faded versions of aforementioned bright colors gives me a vision of a stark reality.

In an Al-Qadim PBEM I ran once, I was describing a manor house of a high-ranking military official that the PCs were helping with a mystery, and I guess I was getting carried away with describing things in vibrant detail (I tend to do that in PBEM games), and the players thought that colors must be some clue to the mystery (it wasn't).

At one point, I described the cook's area in the kitchen, where they were cooking a fish. I was waiting to see if anyone was going to ask what they were cooking - red herring.
