Burning Shaolin and D20 Modern -- Adding Guns to the Equation

Just took another read through the Burning Shaolin D20 rules for faceless hordes and wuxia-style combat and thought that these would be cool for a D20 Modern game.

However, Burning Shaolin is set in the world of period Kung Fu cinema, and the modern day has introduced a new element to HK action cinema -- hyperkinetic two-fisted gunplay, made famous by guys like John Woo, Ringo Lam and Taylor Wong.

The faceless hordes and other rules can be adapted easily to this kind of game, but the feat vulnerability section needs some rounding-out for characters of a more ballistic persuasion, giving the gunbunnies some cooler stuff to do vs. the mooks without having to blow a ton of feats.

Something like:
  • Those who have Personal Firearms Proficiency can use two pistols in tandem against faceless hordes as if they had Two-Weapon Fighting. When doing so, both attacks gained this way are at their highest ranged attack bonus. In addition, they also gain the benefits of Quick Reload (because gunmen in action flicks rarely run out of bullets unless dramatically appropriate).
  • Those who have Advanced Firearms Proficiency are treated as though they have the Strafe feat when dealing with faceless hordes.
  • Those who have Personal Firearms Proficiency and the Dodge feat are treated as though they had the Shot on the Run feat when dealing with faceless hordes.
And so on.

I'd also cut firearms damage dealt by faceless hordes in half and use the Lucky Shot rule when appropriate because of D20 Modern's massive damage rules.

So what do you think? And is there anything that can be added to this?
