Forgotten Realms Dragon Magazine article ideas

Which of these ideas would make a great article for Dragon magazine?

Lately, I've been giving a lot of thought to working up a Dragon article for the Forgotten Realms. there are a lot of unconverted monsters left, as well as more than a few that we do have on our site. above you'll see some examples of themes that might work for an article - naturally, some would have to be cut to make an article work, whereas other ideas can be expanded on with different conversions or even our homebrews.

Please, if you have any other ideas for good combos with these creatures, post below! :)

How about a Creatures of Kara-Tur article? There were several creatures from 1e Oriental Adventures and MC6 that didn't make it into the current OA (among them the gargantua, shan sao, hu hsien, hsing-sing, p'oh, gohei p'oh, jishin mushi, duruch'i-lin, kaluk, kalas, and from Dragon #248, the hai ryo. In your list of Forgotten Realms creatures, you left out the dimensional warper (MC11) and neo-orogs (Spellbound, Monstrous Compendium Annual 3), and the seelie and unseelie sprites (Spellbound, MCA2).

eh... don't really want to go to Kara-Tur just yet.

dimensional warper was on purpose - i always hated that thing.

neo-orogs can be fit in where appropriate. as for the sprites, maybe but only if we include them in a fey article. :)

I believe the Spectral Harpist is in MonoF as well, under the ghost entry.

And I think I know a few of these guys. ;) I don't see the Lhiannan Shee on the list, though?

If that's the case, why are baelnorns and doomspheres on the list? :p

Seriously, I see it, in a way, though the creatures aren't exactly the same...

That's fair. The reason for spectral harpists, baelnorns, and doomspheres, I believe, is because the alhoons started as a brief lich variant in Monsters of Faerun, then got the full monster treatment in Lords of Madness. This would seem to open the doors for other expanded versions of the variant ghosts and liches.
