Bringing me life

First Post
The woman is lightly cloaked to hide her form, but her step is sure and seems almost dancing as she comes up to the tree to attach a new piece of parchment.

Bringing me life…

Before you came the winter was so cold,
Rain, sleet and snow darkening the sky
In endless gray as if it would imply
No spring would ever come -- the future sold,
Given away, lost, buried, fully dead.
I wept (more than I told) in gray despair
Not always keeping hope with no one there
Giving me reason. Now the dark has fled.
More light and warmth than springtime ever brought
Engulfs me, drowning every foolish thought,
Leaving the rest floating in your embrace
In safe surrender, as in a sacred place.
Freed from my fears, all I have I give,
Ending a death, choosing new lives to live.
