Human Interest

Leandra Zephyrine and James Wagner, the victims in a string of serious crimes, recently announced something that has shocked New York City.

They're getting married, and they're not being quiet about it. "I'm the happiest I've ever been." James explains in an interview. "I just have a feeling that this is right. That we're meant to be together." A sheepish Leandra wasn't reachable for questioning, but her lawyer and good friend Alexi commented, stating "James is a good man, I couldn't ask for anyone better to be with Leandra. The two have been through a lot, and I hope that their years together will be long and happy."

On last note, James Wagner and Leandra Zephyrine were heading off on a vacation to an undisclosed location.

NYU adds new library

Callista Dare, Associated Press

An anonymous donor has provided New York University with funds and the beginnings of a collection for a new library, the university reported today. Until a new building can be built, the Andrew Forsythe Collection will be housed at the Anthropology department’s new annex in Manhattan. Staff of the university have expressed excitement over the new addition to the university’s collections.

The collection, which contains Gnostic texts, copies of Sanskrit and Aramaic texts, Zorastrian and Kabalistic texts, and some medieval grimories among other texts, is officially an esoteric and occult collection, at the request of the donor. Several departments at the university are understandably excited by this new collection.

“The collection opens up many new and exciting research opportunities for our undergraduate and graduate students,” said Dr. Alisa McConaway, a professor of Anthropology and Linguistics. McConaway has been named to the review board that will be making new selections for the collection and is on the committee that will be approving designs for the new library annex to house the collection.

The donor, McConaway told the Tribune, was very specific about some things regarding the collection. The building was to be in a style reminiscent of 1920s Midwest architecture and all additions to the collection are to be of an occult or esoteric nature. There is some discussion of exhibitions being attached to the collection. The collection will be funded by an ongoing grant for at least the next five years, to be renewed after that, McConaway said.

There is some evidence that several committee members know the identity of the donor, but none have been willing to reveal the name of the shadowy figure.

“Most of what we’ve been authorized by the donor to say is in the press release the university put out,” said committee member Dr. RA Reed, a professor of liberal studies. “Beyond that, all I can say is that the collection is named in the memory of one of the donor’s relatives. He met a tragic end and that’s impelled the collection’s donor to give back to the city that was home for a time.”

Word has reached the Associated Press of similar donations being made anonymously to a state university in Michigan, Grand Valley State, as well as to UCLA’s library.

“We’re aware of those donations,” McConaway said when asked about the other two collections of the same name. “In fact, the donor has stipulated that there will be interlibrary loan privileges between the universities where the collection is concerned.”

No one at UCLA or Grand Valley were available for comment at press time. NYU's Anthropology annex is located on 106th street near 3rd Avenue.

What kind of Sin are you in?

Rising stars of the music world, members of the band Toxic Sin were recently seen frequenting that popular nightclub The Meeting Place.

Toxic Sin is compromised of three members. Lead singer/guitar Nathan Sane, bass guitar player Moorehead, and Queen Mab on drums. The unlikely trio first became popular in the underground college circuits, from which a large and growing fan base has propelled them onto a growing stage.

Their latest hit, Departed, broadcast on airwaves across New York City last Thursday, presenting the band with their first big break.

Rumors of a record deal for the trio are already in place, which will no doubt be bolstered by their haunting acoustics and powerful tracks. This reporter knows, she at least, will be keeping an eye on Toxic Sin and the bands dreamy lead singer.

Knights of NYC Reopen, Exclusive Interview.

After the dramatic shooting and daring robbery that took place not long ago, Knights of New York City, is finally reopening its doors for business.

This reporter caught up with the shop owner, Leandra Zephyrine, when the doors opened this morning and caught an interview. Rare indeed, since it is well known that Miss Zephyrine seems to avoid speaking with the press.

Her responses were shy, but there is a charm about that French accent that simply can not be denied.

Angel: “Miss Zephyrine, today is the reopening for Knights of NYC, what do you hope to see happen?”

Leandra: “Ah.. oh.. well, I should simply hope that it does well, and our clientele have no concerns regarding security..”

Angel: “Actually to be honest, I don’t think our readers have any interest in the shop or the plans for opening. So let me get to the real question on everyone’s mind. Tell us about your recent engagement to Mister Wagner..”

Leandra: “I.. oh. Uhm.. James. Call him James, non?”

Angel: “How do you know James?”

Leandra: “Oh we.. ah. .had been friends for a time, a few years now that we have known one another for company. Even before, we got along well.”

Angel: “Alright. So tell our readers about your engagement to James.”

Leandra: “.. We are very happy, to be promising our lives to one another, oui. It feels, good.. right.”

Angel: “Do you have any concerns regarding some of the issues that have been raised, namely the difference you share in age?”

Leandra: “.. well.. ah.. you see, anyone who cares about us, won’t mind. We understand that we are not.. ah.. as you say a typical or common couple. But we are happy in one another’s company. So those who are our friends, and wish us well.. well they will just be glad for us, without letting it .. ah.. bother them”

Angel: “When is the date?”

Leandra: “The.. date?”

Angel: “When is the wedding?”

Leandra: “Ah, we have not decided as of yet. But we will send out invitations, to even the press. We are.. we have no wish to hide the union, and will welcome those to witness it.”

Miss Zephyrine disappeared into her shop then, but not before she had sated at least some of the curiosity regarding her engagement. This reporter, is hoping she can be on hand to witness the event in person. If so, be well aware that photographs of the union will grace the front page of the NY Inquirer.
