Rodimus picks through the gnoll's possessions. His findings are rather meagre, apparently not only were they weak guards, but they were also under paid and under equipped. Dropping his finds into a pile they total loot accumulated includes 2 battle axes, 2 shortbows, 68 arrows in 2 quivers (39 each), 2 ratty, battered, and bloody suits of leather armor. In addition one of the gnolls has a cured leather necklace fitted with several small dark red, white, and brown wooden beads as well as several dangling bones and feathers.

For Nars' part, he is unable to find any traps on the door, nor does he think it is locked as there is no visible locking mechanism. Instead what he finds is a large stone door that looks incredibly heavy. While there are images of half-man, half-animals covering and flanking the doors, there is no apparent writing that requires the archanists' attention.

Nezrak tries to find out what was it that he saw glinting earlier. "Well, that was certainly quite fast. I wonder if there'll be reinforcements here soon.", he says.

From a closer vantage point, Nezrak is unable to see what might have been glinting earlier. Though from here the eyes and higher portions of the statues and relief work are not visible. Perhaps climbing up the side would grant a better view. With all the carving work, there should be plenty of hand holds for a capable climber.

IcyCool, excellent. I'll continue to post the maps here then.

To Nezrak's comment on reinforcements, Nars replies, "Should we, er, keep moving? The doors are not trapped, but look, ah, heavy. Rodimus or Gorefoot, ah, give me a hand?"

Nars waits until the others are ready, and then attempts to open the door with whoever comes to help.

Percy

"Well done, gentlemen. Come one Gorefoot, you'll have to help them open that door."

Percy moves up. She loads her crossbow and takes a position behind the others, about 20 feet back from the doors.

Entrance Hall of the Jackal

With much effort you push open the stone doors and find yourselves in an ornate hall. The hall is 20 feet long and each wall holds a masterfully constructed mural of inlaid mosaic tiles. The hall opens into a larger room, with two stone doors opposite where you are standing. Before the door between two statues, a pair of gnolls is standing, obviously on guard.
