That's cool, man.

I don't have any tats but my cousin has several. I dunno if he still has a panther climbing down his upper arm but he does have 3 characters from the Sandman comic on his lower, inner arm.

I'm thinking of getting an oriental dragon tatted on my back.

A maybe-true anecdote:

A friend of a friend was stationed in Okinawa. He was into D&D and had a black dragon tattooed on his arm from the monster manual (2e). Apparently that was a sign that he was part of the Yakuza. The translator/guide he knew assumed he was Yakuza and went out of his way to make the guy happy. Now the guy was a good enough person and tried to deny that he was part of the Yakuza but the conversation went like this:

GUY: I'm not Yakuza.
GUIDE: Ooooooh! I get it! *wink*. You're 'not' Yakuza. No problem. *wink*
GUY: No! Really! I'm not in the Yakuza!
GUIDE: No problem. *wink* I understand. *wink* Can I get you anything? *wink*

The guy eventually gave up trying to convince the guide that he wasn't Yakuza and basically spent his hitch getting catered to and hoping that the real Yakuza wouldn't find out and get pissed off.
