Four portals lead the treacherous way to Niflheim, the demiplane of the departed, Hel's kingdom of undeath. Within its borders great beasts sit coiled in their lairs, undead writhe on sizzling shores, rivers hiss and crack as lava and ice combine, and trolls sit unmoving so long they become the mountains themselves. In Niflheim, a clutch of settlements cling together - as if for warmth - and dream of one day returning to the material plane.
