ooc: Hang in there, little mages! If we survive this battle, you're bound to level up!

ooc:  We damn well better! I am NOT dying in a sewer!

Babette will likely take a 5' step away from as many rats as possible on her turn.

Fimble fires (1d20+4=17, 1d6=5) and hits a rat. His nimble fingers work fast to reload the crossbow again. He sees Babette fall, and he cringes. "Hang in there!" He shuffles as fast as he can in her direction, keeping the loaded crossbow facing his enemies.

Drezel calls out to the companions, "Surrender now and I'll restrain my pets!"
That's a bit of an empty threat, isn't it? We've already got almost all of them! Fimble thinks optimistically. He considers yelling it out, but then he decides against it.

The last rat threatening Tor moves in for another bite but utterly fails to find an opening for its teeth.

Fimble calls out encouragement to his companions as he fires another bolt into the closest rat. He quickly loads his crossbow as he takes another step forward.

Gideon, sensing the trouble his friends are in, rushes dangerously forward to attack one of the rats threatening Metrius. He maintains his balance but can't steady himself to aim his swing properly and it whooshes by over the rat's head.

Fimble's target moves in to finish off Babette latching onto her leg with its teeth again and dropping her to the ground, unconscious.

Otto takes another step closer but Drezel remains where he is.

A rat snaps forward at Metrius, drawing a line of blood with its teeth. Metrius tries to return the favor but the wound throws off the cleric's aim.

The rat Gideon charged turns its attention to the brash young man, gashing him in the leg again. Gideon somehow manages to remain standing, but he's obviously at his limit.

Tor swings the chain at his attacker, missing the target in his enthusiasm.

Fimble yelps as Babette goes down. Maybe I was wrong... he thinks, as he argues with himself over which rat he should shoot at. He hesitates for a moment, but he has to make a decision. He chooses to fire at the rat that just bit Gideon. His shot is awful (1d20+4-4=5, 1d6=3), made all the worse by Fimble trying not to hit Gideon. Fimble just shakes his head as he moves closer. "Flank the rats, Metrius!" he calls. He's not an expert tactician, so he thinks maybe he has no idea what he's talking about, but it sounded good at the moment. Scared, Fimble considers dropping his crossbow and casting his only offensive spell, color spray.

OOC: Attack and move closer. And... would color spray help us? Should Metrius move to flank the rats? Should Fimble flank them with his dagger? Comments?
