Not I. This sport of knocking each other off a horse is not much suited for one of my stature. I have entered the archery competition.

How about you? What competition are you entered in?


Cepheus contemplates making a jest about Jik'tu entering the maze but decides it is not safe to irritate him. Cepheus shudders thinking back on the healing he received during their journey to escort the cook.

Cepheus and Jik'tu find a place behind two dwarves. They seems to bet on the kingths, and as one have refused to bet, the other has turn around to the guy next to him whoaccept to bet at high price.

Both knight charge at each other. When they both reach the center, both lance touch each other, but both lance doesn't seems to have a grip and simply slide on the armor of the other. The knigths reach the end of their corrdior and turn around, ready for the second charge.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Don't forget, you have a masterwork weapon, and lance doubel damage on charge (triple with spirited charge).

In the crowd, the dwarves who doesn't parry is laughing. "What I told you, I didn't felt it. They are both clumsy."

"Maybe, both I still hold my bet. It might be not an easy bet as I thought, but I still think he is favorite and that guy will regret to have raised hi bet."

Both knights charge again. As they meet in the center of the arena, the spiked knight seems to loose his grip on his lance and completly miss his opponent. but not only that, Garrit see the opening, and put his lance straigth on the chest, and the lance get stuck on a spike, giving a firm grip on the spiked knight, which find himself flying. not knowing what happen, he fall with a loud bang. He stays a moment on the ground. A great cheer come from the public, who seems happy with that nice hit.

"Ah! You are losing. That man will have your money."

"Humph! It's not finish."

"He doesn't seems to stands up. One hit and goodbye."

"No, see! He is standing up."

The spiked knight stands up and seems a bit unbalance, but with the help of the squires, he take his place again on his horse, ready to charge again for the final charge.

The knights pass for a last time. this time, the spiked knight goes for an all or nothing, and you see him aiming for the head, which Garrit easily evade, but that make him miss his opponent too.

"Humph! He knew something. He has cheated, or he wouldn't had bet so much."

"Anyone with some sense can see a knight with a spiked armor is simply a showoff and nothing more."

The dwarf which has lost look at his friend for a moment, then a Deos. He finally hand five platinium to the man. "Only twenty gold left... I better drink some ale with it."

Garrit is allowed to rest while the 8th of final finish. Eight knight have been eliminated, the other half prepare themsleves for the second round. Garrit heard that he has beaten a young rich man, a young man who like to hunt on horse but know little of warfare. He now see his next opponent. That time, it might be more promising. It is member of a roadwarden patrol. He must know how to fight on horse, but Garrit doubt he is use to jousting. That men have chosen a breastplate and an heavy shield and seems at ease in it. No, the excitation is more present, as after all, the winner will be among the best four, and the three first are in the prize...

Garrit and his opponent open the second round. Both prepares themselves.

"I think I'll bet on the warrior of Hyrag"

"Humph! I told you I don't bet anymore."

Both knight charge at each other. It seems that Garrit's opponent's lance doesn't find the warrior of Hyrag, and in exchange, Garrit thinks he has miss his shot as he feels his lance sliding on the breastplate of his opponent, but at the last moment, it stuck itself in something that pull off balance his oppponent who flies into the air. He rolls quickly roll and fall without harm, but the roadwarden soldier knows he is now far behind in the points, and must dismount his opponent. The crowd cheer again, seeing one of the knight on the floor.

In the crowd, two women walk down the stairs and sits next to Jik'tu. Both of them show the sign of Hyrag. The oldest of the two seems sick and must be helped by the youger who wear a monk robe.

"It is your son who is on the field."

"I can recognize Garrit."

Garrit spot the two women.

"That half-orc seems better than I though on the horse." tells the dwarf.

"You see, it wasn't luck that make him win on the first round." answers his friend.
