Where can I find free to use D&D-related music online?

I don't want to be sued into bankruptcy by the recording industry, so I'm in need of some music that can be used in a podcast that won't cost me money.

Google hasn't done much to help in my search, so I turn to those who always seem to have the answers (um that would be you all).

Not free, but http://allofmp3.com/ has just about anything you want, encoded in whatever format you want (mp3, wma, lossless, selectable bitrate, variable or constant bitrate) sold by the megabyte. 192kb wma will give you just about CD quality for about $1.80/disc. You can buy songs individually, as albums, or however you want. You put money in your account in increments of $10 and download until it's gone. It's a fantastic service.

Get what you can quick, though. US and EU are putting pressure on Russia to change their laws to make this site illegal. Until then, happy hunting.

While this is a discussion I'd just as soon not get into at length here, I'll just say that it can be argued that Americans downloading from this site from machines in the U.S. are violating current American (not Russian) copyright law. While you probably will get away with it, you do so at your own risk.

In terms of music you may want for a podcast, the best music composer in the NWN community, David John, is a member of both my gaming circle and of DLA.

If this is for a gaming related podcast, I'm sure David would consent to some of his tracks being used in your podcast as long as you give him a plug.

Drop me a note or private message here with your e-mail address and I'll put you and David into e-mail contact.

David is a truly gifted composer and his stuff is amazing (his best you have not heard yet and will bundled with Wyvern Crown of Cormyr) but he has lots of samples on his site.)

I'd love that.
Having direct permission from the writer/composer would do much to remove my paranoia.
:D

I'd PM you, but my account still has not been reactivated from the crash. I can be contacted through a link on my blog (in my sig).
