Illander has grey hair cut off at shoulder length. He is simply dressed in sturdy clothes and stout shoes. He doesn't appear wealthy, but keeps is attire as clean as possible. He has his quarterstaff in hand and his crossbow is tucked away on his back. His psycristal is usually hidden from view under his shirt.
To outsiders Illander appears very cold, seldom showing emotions. Amongst Kalashtar that suspicion and distrust completely disappears, as if casting of a cloak. He doesn't really trust outsiders, but knows that he must cooperate with them. Once his trust is won, he becomes a staunch ally.
Illander was born to the war with the Riedrans, as are all Kalashtar. He started displaying his psionic talent at the age of 12, and received training in the monastery of snowy valley in Adar. He was too restless for monastic life, and petitioned and received permission to wander around the continent, visiting different communities and looking for a more suitable lifestyle.

Personality: Samarik falls into the catagory 'strong and silent' when around outsiders, and rarely lets down his guard. He has a powerful glance, and will closely examine the person he speaks to before he says anything.
Background: Samarik has a fractured memory; he can remember his youth dimly, but his last memory was of his 16th birthday with his woodscutter father. After that, attempting to remember what happened is like diving into a black nightmare. His most recent memories emerge him as a 23-year old man, lost deep in the shattered wilderness of Eberron. After taking odd jobs and eventually doing mercenary work, he now has the basic resorces to go into business for himself, with the twin goals of discovering his future, and also his past.
Hopefully this guy doesnt die as soon as I start out, after all the time it took to fill this thrice-blasted thing out! :P

Rafeek has the light orange skin, deep red eyes, and matted black hair. He has the flat face and broad nose typical of his race. His skin is covered with multiple scars some ritual and some not. He wears a chainshirt beneath a dirty set of travellers clothes. A well-worn greatsword and pack are strapped across his back.
Rafeek is quiet keeping his scheming and worrisome thoughts to himself. He fidgets constantly always trying to keep himself from being cornered. He lives in constant fear of being sent back to Droaam to live as a slave.
Rafeek was born into slavery in the Shadowmarches. Before the age of 3 his orc slavemasters were killed or captured themselves by an Ogre raiding party from nearby Droaam. He grew up in the service of another slave, an old dwarf blacksmith named Roodkerk, who eventually took Rafeek on as an apprentice. Less than a decade after his training began Roodkerk passed away. He urged Rafeek to attempt escape before he ended his days in slavery. After numerous attempts and countless near deaths Rafeek finally escaped and wandered his way East until reaching the Brelish city of Ardev and eventually Sharn. He has spent most of his time since dodging other goblinoid races and eaking out a
living as a minor blacksmith.

Appearance:Calren is what many would point to as a typical example of a Talenta Halfling. His skin is deeply tanned from days spent in the sun, and while his face is still fairly young, he already shows signs of wrinkles and other sun damage. His long, wavy black hair is tied back and braided with strips of leather. He is dressed head to toe in dinosaur leather; Leather shirt covered with a short sleeved studded leather 'coat', leather breeches, leather weapon harness, and black leather boots. While he appears to try to keep clean, he inevitably has a layer of dust on his clothes and hair, and he can never seem to completely erase the slightly spicy sweet smell of the dinosaurs he trains. The hunter's mask he carries is decorated to resemble that of his mount. He is usually seen on the back of his clawfoot mount, Ghostsnout. Ghostsnout is a typical clawfoot that Calren has raised from the egg. He receives his name from his white muzzle, but is otherwise a fairly solid chestnut color. Calren typically rides Ghostsnout whenever possible, so long as there's room.
Personality: Calren, while a pleasant enough fellow, always seemed a bit reserved around his family and tribesmen. Truth be told, he often felt more in common with the dinosaurs he raised and trained then with his fellow Halflings. They were certainly more predictable, in any case. Usually quiet, he can go on for hours when it comes to stories about 'his' dinosaurs. Ghostsnout is the first clawfoot he raised by himself and Calren tends to baby him a bit more then many consider healthy. Calren loves seeing new sites and sounds, and thus has always had a bit of wanderlust in him. When experiencing new things, he can be a bit naive and overly trusting. He stays clear of any mention of his tribe.
Background:According to Calren's tribe, every so often a Halfling is born with a stronger connection to the spirits. They are able to tame the most unruly beasts and forge bonds with their mounts stronger then any else. Calren was one of these. From an early age he showed a natural touch with dinosaurs, often getting along with them better then with other people. As he grew, he quickly became one of the best riders in his tribe and a skilled warrior, unfortunately, he shared a difference of opinion with the tribal Lath, who was a strict traditionalist. While many of the tribe shared their lath's opinions about the outside world, Calren was one of a vocal minority who believed that the outside world had as many benefits as pitfalls, and that they could incorporate this into the tribe without diluting the nature of their traditions.
The boiling point came after a House Ghallanda diplomatic party was denied access to their camp. Calren was fascinated with them, and snuck out of the camp to discuss the outside world with them. THey, in turn, were impressed with his talent and skill when he demonstrated certain techniques on their pack animals, the leader of the group even offering him a job. When he came back to the camp, he found the lath waiting for him, infuriated with him for talking with the outsiders. After a particularly heated argument, Calren came to blows with the lath. While Calren was a natural talent and excellent warrior, the lath had the benefit of years of experience and soundly beat the young halfling. Rather then take this defeat as the learning experience the lath had meant, it only served to strength Calren's resolve. In the dead of the night, Calren snuck out of camp, stole some pack animals and supplies from the lath, and met with the Ghallanda party.
Since then he has been wandering around Khorvaire, seeing the sights and hoping his tribe doesnt seek him out. While he feels a bit apologetic about the theft, he no longer has the items in question, selling them off for supplies and better gear. He has recently decided to visit Sharn as he heard many things about it.

She has only one eye. Her body is covered with thin scars, most of them from self-inflicted wounds. Her hair is usually bound up in a thick tail.
Kari was the daughter of a commoner cook running an Inn. At the age of 12, she was kidnapped by a wizard who removed one of her eyes to use as a component in a spell. The pain and bloodletting of this trauma awakened a latent psychic ability that allowed her to manifest a mindblade. In the Afterlife the Wizard still gets quite a bit of ribbing about being killed by a badly wounded 12-year old girl, and for not bothering to tie his hostage up.
Kari was able to make her way home but her mind was permanently warped by the experience, Kari has a strange relationship with pain and uses it to focus herself psionically, if no wounds are available from enemies Kari will inflict them on herself to get the pain she requires. While Kari is selfless and kind to (most) others, she's extremely brutal and sadistic towards percieved enemies, which prevents her from being a strictly good person. Kari has a strong dislike of arcane spellcasters, and while she will work with them if needed she prefers not to and has studied into increasing her agility to get past defenders and attack enemy spellcasters as quickly as possible.

Personality: Guardian is a male personality type warforged that has been active for a few years, having served briefly in the last war. He is driven by an intense desire to defend others (a lingering result of the experiment that created him), seeing order and law to usually be the best way to accomplish that. He is friendly to those he understands to be law-abiding, and is most comfortable with a group of said friends.
Background: Guardian was created as an experiment in combining various golem creation methods with the warforged creation process. In Guardian's specific case, his creation incorporated a significant portion of the process involved in the construction of a Shield Guardian. While not entirely considered to be a failed experiment, his creators were disappointed enough that they sold him to Breland's military forces where he was used as a bodyguard for tactical personnel. Guardian found that he had a talent for battle, and happily performed well in his assigned role. After the war, Guardian was cut loose as a free entity, and wandered around trying to find a place in the world. Given the still lingering ill-will towards warforged that many people hold, he found that his options were very limited. After hearing about the Tower's Shard and the adventurers there, he has decided that maybe as an adventurer he can find a place.

He attended the Drystone College of Engineering at the Library of Korranberg, where he excelled. After graduation, he made his way to Sharn, to make a name for himself and his family in the world.
