Appearance: A half-gloom appears as a hairless,dark-skinned version of the base creature with eyes that seem to blend into its face. Its mouth is almst always stretched into a toothy grin. Half-glooms that waer clothing typically dress as if attending a funeral.
Size: Size is unchanged.
Type: Animals become magical beasts, but type is otherwise unchanged.
HD: Increase racial HD to d8.
Speed: Unchanged.
AC: A half-gloom gains a +6 insight bonus to AC.
Attacks: Unchanged.
Space/Reach: Unchanged.
SA: A half-gloom gains the fear gaze and sneak attack abilities in addition to its normal special attacks.
SQ: A half-gloom gains blindsight 30 ft, partial quiescence, spell-like abilities, spell resistance, and DR 5/epic in addition to its normal special qualities.

Partial Quiescence (Su): A half-gloom's movements and sounds are dampened by magical silence, granting the half-gloom a +10 racial bonus on Move Silently checks. This effect does not extend beyond the half-gloom itself. The half-gloom can lower this effect at will.
Sneak Attack (Ex): A half-gloom is able to sneak attack as a 13th-level rogue, dealing 7d6 extra damage.
