Boog's decided that he would brainlock Vanth if he got loose, and determined that 20 to 25 paces from the tree would be the best place he could wait. That way, it would take Vanth the same amount of time to reach Boog and attack as it would for him to escape the range of Boog's Power. Boog tried to convince at least one of the others to spend the night next to him, hopefully someone who could at least slow Vanth down if he changed.[sblock=OoC: ]The range of Boog's Brainlock is 140', and he wants to be at half that - 70' for Vanth to make mincemeat out of him, or 70' the other way for Vanth to escape. Boog will try to get his 4 hours of rest before the moon comes up, and will stay up all night like he usually does while the moon is out. Oh, and anyone up for meatshield duty? :) [/sblock]

OOC: Let's start with a tree in the middle, and several other trees around it. They do tend to travel in packs, as it were. Toss in some rocks, a hillside...ok.

Rowan sets himself up. He lays out his bedroll and equipment. He ties his horse up, and Vanth's behind a boulder, so they can't see the transformation. He also wraps up their faces to calm them. After securing Vanth, he sets up for battle, laying out his silvered battleaxe, his heavy flail, his quiver and his bow. He then sits back against the tree holding his guisarme and chatting with his brother. "It will be OK."

Taking a leaf out of Rowan's book, Eusebius tethers and blinkers his mule with the horses. Then he goes over to Boog and offers to protect him. He will settle down early to get a bit of sleep before moonrise.

Talbin also leaves with the other animals and sits with the rest while the night gows darker. He tells some tales of a far away cousin of his who took up sailing as a profession and lived numberous adventures on the high seas. Talbin talks a bit funny as he tells the story, using all kinds of strange words in place of common ones. It's probably a seafahrer thing...

[sblock=dm only]Talbin will try and find a suitable place in northern direction. Tending for the mounts while he takes a good look of that area.[/sblock]

The party gets some rest, and everyone is feeling alert and awake when the moon rises. Vanths transformation is very disquieting, a painfull process clearly made more painfull by the alchemical silver bindings which dig painfully into his flesh after he has transformed into hybrid form. He howls, yowls and strains against the chains, but they seem to be holding.

About an hour passes in this fashion, and then...

Roll initiative. Post your location if its not yet on the map, too.

[sblock=Answer]Boog would rather have boulders and horses between himself and Vanth. That's why Rowan is supposed to yell whenever anything happens. Hopefully, he'll yell something useful, like, "He's loose and running for the horses", or "He's loose and coming for me!"[/sblock]
