Invasion of Mori - IC [3.5][CE/NE][planar]

Dichotomy

Rose, in his element now, gracefully swings his falchion as he begins an astounding dance. He glides up to the scorpion and begins laying into it, only to dance back toward his companions when finished.

[size=-2]OOC: Entering dervish dance. Moving 30' forward to scorpion; attacking once; then 10' to the right, with attacks at each of the two steps. For most of his movement, he is accelerated tumbling (full speed) and taking 10 on the check (automatic success). However, once he is actually adjacent to the scorpion, he does not tumble (hoping to make use of karmic strike). Once his three attacks are complete, he moves 15' back toward the party, but staying to the side so the others have room.

+25/+20/+15 Melee, keen falchion +1, 2d4+21, 15-20/x2 (power attacking for 2)
AC: 24 [26 after moving 40'; 28 or 30 vs. AoO][/size]

The maug charges forward, also engaging the scorpion, hoping to slay it fast enough that the group can proceed past the road block.

(Moving forward 20 ft, standing 10 ft from the scorpion, taking a AoO at AC42, power attacking at +20 doing 2d8+41 including 1d6 sonic/1d6 acid damage, 17-20/x2)

Voadam

Legend
With a stamp of one booted foot Snargle disappears in a cloud of brimstone. A corresponding cloud appears in the midst of the kobolds and the towering green troll emerges, claws extended ready to snatch up any kobold that flees. His lips are pulled back from his snaggly teeth in a great grin of anticipation.

ooc teleports using boots to middle of koobolds, combat reflexes to strike if any provoke AoOs.

Loriel narrows her eyes suspiciously. A cadre of kobold warriors. A giant scorpion. None of which explained where the burn marks and explosions had been coming from. A sorceror perhaps, shielded in invisibility and gauging the combat. Ready to flee should the tide of battle turn against them. Ready to rain mystic flame should he think they had a chance.

A moment's concentration, and her form shimmers and vanishes from visibility...even on the Ethereal. She then scans the area opposite the kobold warriors from the party...looking to see if she see subtle signs of an invisible presence.

(Action - Turn invisible and take a Spot check to see if I can detect an invisible creature. Sadly, as far as I can tell, entering and leaving the Ethereal is a standard action each, so I can't turn invis -and- turn material in one turn. Doop. :))

Vedak glances around him, but does not see any Arcane spellcasters, of which there has to be if they are capable of casting Black Tentacles. He stops to cast See Invisibility, hoping that no enemies are already invisible and outflanking them.

The tiefling takes quick note of the kobolds' tight formation. A wise mage would distance himself from his soldiers, but perhaps he hasn't been taught the lesson, he muses in his head. He considers his tactics for a brief moment, deciding to let loose a burst of flame in the reptilian ranks before his new allies make good on their plan to teleport into their midst. The last triggers of the magic appear in his mind, and he performs them with precision, letting a perfect orb of glowing green magic fly from his hand and explode violently in the formation's center.

OOC: fireball, 10d6 damage, reflex save DC 22 for half. Caster level check (using Arcane Mastery to take 10) to defeat any spell resistances is 28.

Gabriel saunters in behind the others and maintains a short distance from the others. Loriel’s intelligence of a mage with the kobolds had him mildly annoyed; mages were so unpredictable. He watches for a few moments, and then begins an elaborate harangue in Draconic about the long and illustrious history of kobold failings. He describes in detail their numerous failures and pathetic attempts to capture true draconic majesty, relishing specific instances of truly bloody catastrophes. Indeed, any enemy mage anywhere nearby would find Gabriel’s words very jarring!

[sblock]OOC: Beginning jarring song virtuoso performance. Any enemy spellcasters within 30 ft. must make a DC 38 Concentration check or lose their spell.[/sblock]

Pyre saw the fireball strike in the middle of the kobolds, and acted accordingly. He slithered towards the large bug that was impeding their progress, and jabbed at him with his spear.
