After healing up, you set off again to hunt down the zombie. Everything's been pretty quiet, with no reports of additional attacks while you recover. When you finally catch up with the zombie, it's apparant why.
You find the headless corpse of a decayed wyvern lying in a small valley, punctured numerous times with crossbow bolts. Investigating the area, you find two shallowly dug caves, both of which have heavy stones piled around there entrances. As near as you can tell, someone managed to catch the zombie in a crossfire and eventually shot it dead. Whoever it was must be on their way to claim the reward.
Aggravated, you realize you'll need to find another opportunity to adventure.
