That's a good article, thanks!

Here a link to the 1994 American Journal of Psychotherapy article with Dr. Blackmon's case study of Fred's use of D&D therapy: http://www.rpgstudies.net/blackmon/dungeons_and_dragons/

I have used D&D for my own therapeutic healing on a few occasions and I'll confirm that going in with the mindset to express what you are unable to in other environments is helpful.

Then again a good therapist, physical exercise, spending time with supportive friends and family, religious worship, meditation, belonging to a community, and possibly drugs are all elements in recovering from mental illness.

It's an article posted by one of our friendly newshounds. :)

A very good read, and that's one article I wish I'd had around when I first started playing 3E against the wishes of my parents.
