Hi guys,

The Rooke's Guide to Block Wars has just shipped and will be avilable in a few days within the UK, or towards the end of the month in the US.

Following a similar format to The Rookie's Guide to the Justice Department (but with high quality glossy pages), this supplement for Games Masters, Judges and Citizens alike contains everything you need to create your own civil disturbance in Mega-City One.

Taking you from street gang Rumbles, to Parades, Riots, Block Wars and even massive Sector Wars (including the infamous Block Mania incident), this supplement adds massive street battles to the Judge Dredd Roleplaying Game. Building on Mongoose's Open Mass Combat System (the OMCS), the rules have been revised, updated and now not only reflect warfare in the 22nd Century, but also bring the action to focus even more on the player characters. Entire riots involving thousands of citizens can now be resolved with just a few dice rolls, allowing Games Masters to concentrate on the players and their actions and, for the first time, full rules for using maps and miniatures have been included - from a cityblock plaza to a full sector, you can now feature any size of civil disturbance in your scenarios.

Full rules have now been given for constructing (and demolishing) the huge mile-high cityblocks themselves, as well as featuring the Citi-Def units common to most.

Players can now try some stunning new prestige classes, such as the Riot Judge, Jaeger Squad Commando (a personal favourite) and the Block Champion. New feats all characters to sepcialise not only in combat but in mass battles - all characters can benefit from feats such as Advanced Leadership, while judges are going to find Mass Arrest invaluable. Perps spoiling for some real action will delight in the new range of weaponry and equipment available - from the Cursed Earth Eagle, allegedly the most powerful hand gun in the world, to the high velocity rifle and mega-explosives, the latter potentially powerful enough to bring down an entire cityblock!

Games Masters have plenty of new tools and ideas at their disposal - there are plenty of scenario suggestions of how to work mass combat into games of Judge Dredd, while Sector 190 continues to be further detailed with two cityblocks and their street gangs featured, just spoiling to launch themselves into a full-blown block war.

With The Rookie's Guide to Block Wars, the streets become a lot more dangerous - but there are always opportunities for judges to shine in the line of duty, while perps can take full advantage of the chaos that Block Wars bring. . .
