As the front page news is reporting, Sylnae is shutting its doors, so everyone with characters hosted over there risks losing their character sheets unless they act fast to move them to another site. Since getting this done can be a little technical, here's a guide on how to save your sheets and upload them to a more permanent site.
Here's a super-simplified explanation of how to recover your sheets.
Downloading your Sheets
A) Go through the back door to Sylnae: http://jatol.jatol.com/~snikbot/3eprofiler/
B) Log in, as usual, and then scroll down to the Modify Character Details section. Use the popup bar to pick the character you want to transfer and hit "Go."
C) Scroll down to the "Download Character" section and click "Download.
Congratulations, your character is downloaded and ready to be uploaded elsewhere. Repeat these steps for each character you want to rescue.
Uploading Your Sheets Elsewhere
1) Get an account on a working 3eprofiler site. I suggest Myth Weavers, but there are others out there.
2) Go the the actual character sheet section. For Myth-Weavers, that's http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/.
3) Create a new, blank character sheet with the name of the character you want to upload. To do this, all you have to do is insert the character name in the field on top and hit "Create." The sheet will show up instantly in your list of characters.
4) Click on the "Edit" button next to the blank sheet you just made.
5) Scroll down to the "Download/Upload" section. Click on the "Browse" button to find and select your character's XML file. Then hit "Upload."
