Number 76 Shore Lane

Shore lane is a quiet street to the edge of the mercantile district. Removed from the rowdiness of the docks or the boistrousness of the markets, a great deal of commerce occurs here. This is where business occurs as paper and ink. Many of the shipping companies have offices here, as well as commodity traders, and ofcourse lawyers.

Number 76 is as muted and nondescript as any of the other building on this street, but a small brass plaque indicates that it is the offices of Robert Dez, a lawyer. The door is locked, but a bell chain is easily accessible.

Once the bell chain is pulled, no immediate result is observed. No bell is heard, yet soon the latch can be heard loosed, and the door opens to reveal a young man. He looks you over, and it seems that your over all appearance does not impress him.

He sighs and asks, "What business do you have here?" yet the careful observer might notice that the young man feels he already understands the presence of the group and is asking mostly out of custom.

Explorer
Merlis Appleton, Gnome Abjr 1

Taking stock of the buildings around him, Merlis wondered what could bring them to such a normal looking part of the city. In the stories the bards told back home, tavern gatherings led to crawls through sinister caverns, frantic fights atop flying dragons, and other fanciful aspects.

~Are we to look through his books searching for numbers?~

As the young man answered the door, Merlis waited for the others to speak, but did his best to position himself to be seen all the same.

~While I am sure these gents are great, I do not want to seem easily cast aside if a more mental tasker is required.~

Aazwen Shadewood - L1 Perfectly Normal Ranger

Somewhere between leaving the inn a fair bit behind certain others, Aazwen has found time to spruce himself up. His clothes and chain shirt look...clean. The links actually shine, though some spots still bear obvious signs the mesh has been breached. His hair, well, it seems...different. A brush has apparently been applied by some brave soul, and it is currently free of twigs, leaves and other assorted items that don't really belong in one's hair. Including his gecko, who has taken up residence upon his shoulder, just to one side of his neck.

Shuffling in behind two others he immediately slinks toward the first unadorned vertical surface and leans his a shoulder against it, arms folded in a manner that says he is already comfortable in the room.

"Sooooo...a lawya' are ye? Hmm...'n wot is this thiiiing yer aftuh, eh?" Tastes a bit like dwarf. With lemon.

As he waits, he fidgets while straining to keep from sliding forward or back along the wall.

Kermis would have followed valan cloesly, due to his unfamiliar surroundings. looking around somewhat nervous to the many new sites, he relaxes fairly quickly not really sensing any hostility around the areas. eventually his nervousness turned to unbridled curiosity and he wouldve have barraged valan with endless questions about the things that most townfolk would seem to be ordinary work routines. like why a woman would throw water out onto the floor. and why men were tossing boxes onto boats, and other day to day activities that all seem foreign to the barbarian who was used to sleeping under the stars.

throughout the trip to the address, kermis simply tries to imitate valans actions as best he can. upon arriving at what the barbarian assumes to be the mans 'rock Hut', kermis is impressed that this man must be some sort of imprtant chief of the town to own such a magnificent dwelling. even the chief in his own tribe only had a wooden hut with leather skins. when the man answers the door Kermis attempts to appear impressive and extravagant. he puffs out his chest and his visage assumes a stern look of seriousness.

"WE HERE HELP MAN. STRONG WARRIORS. I KERMIS " he says in a deep voice and waves his hands over the group. lingering over the shorter members of the group for only a split second and furrowing his eyebrows briefly wondering what they could possibly do in a fight. He draws forth his great axe and bangs the head of it into the ground chipping the stone beneath it. resting his hands on it and standing perfectly straight up trying to look as impressive as possible he says "STRONG WARRIORS." he says again.
