Dragon #29: Dogai Are these the same as in Fiendish Codex II ??
Dragon #227: Elemental, Darkness I think that these got done in a newer (3.5) Dragon (I believe as Darkness Pseudo-Elemental)
Dragon #38: Brown Dragon Monsters of Faern
Dragon #42: Asuras Book of Exalted Deeds.
Dragon #146: Obsidian Dragon Mind's Eye feature at Wizards.com
Dragon #187: Velociraptor As pointed out, Velociraptor ias also known as Clawfoot in the Eberron Campaign Setting.

Dragon #29: Dogai Are these the same as in Fiendish Codex II ??
No. The dogai from Dragon #29 are Melanesian shapeshifters with reversed joints (and sometimes hands) and "exceedingly large ears" who polymorph into men's wives in order to seduce them. The dogai from the FCII are much less friendly.

Dragon #227: Elemental, Darkness I think that these got done in a newer (3.5) Dragon (I believe as Darkness Pseudo-Elemental)
Ah yes, in Dragon #322. And then again in the Tome of Magic as the shadow elemental. Well spotted .

Dragon #38: Brown Dragon Monsters of Faern
The brown dragon from Dragon #38 seems to be a different creature to the brown dragon from Monsters of Faern. And now that I check, the orange and yellow dragons from the same article are different to the sodium and salt versions from Dragon #65/Dragon #248/Dragon Compendium, Volume 1. And the yellow dragon from the 2nd Edition Draconomicon (FOR1)/Monstrous Manual seems to be different again. Can that be right? Are there really three different yellow dragons in D&D?

Dragon #42: Asuras Book of Exalted Deeds.
These asuras are one of three types of "possessors" created by the devil Selm, not the noble warriors from Book of Exalted Deeds.

Dragon #146: Obsidian Dragon Mind's Eye feature at Wizards.com
Again, these seem to be different creatures. The Dragon magazine obsidian dragons come from Greyhawk's continent of Oerik and are similar to silver dragons, with frost and ice breath weapons. The psionic version from the Mind's Eye feature come from the Inner Planes and have a fiery breath.

Dragon #187: Velociraptor As pointed out, Velociraptor ias also known as Clawfoot in the Eberron Campaign Setting.
Ooh, good point. I'll cut that one from the list.

    Dragon #115: Anaconda

Hmm, that was in the d20 menace manual. I'll also point out that the menace manual Anaconda and the MM2 Dire Snake are very similar.

And for theyellow dragons, it is quite possible, as not everyone who writes into Dragon Magazines have all the products, some create monsters that already exist in the game without realizing it.

Yet they got published. There seems to be little of that now, however.
