Witch spell list from DMG

The witch spell list from the DMG isn't really a complete class, just a spell list. I'm curious what the folks on this board think that spell-list is best applied to to create the witch archetype...

I voted Other, because I could see both a wizard and a sorcerer as making a good witch.

Hmm, maybe the Green Ronin shaman with less of a focus on "nature spirits" and more of a focus on "undead or extraplanar spirits"? Basically it's a divine caster but "on the fly" like a sorcerer.

Plus there are some good herb rules in both Occult Lore and Alchemy & Herbalists.

I agree with Eric. The Green Ronin Shaman class has the best class mechanic for this.

there's a pretty good witch character class write-up on one of the websites devoted to alternative classes (don't recall which one) that worked pretty well for me: basically uses spells as a sorcerer but with a slightly different progression, has druidical nature sense and assassin-like poison use to go along with a redefined spell list (correcting some mistakes from the dmg).
