New Elemental Avatar Base Class based on Avatar Series and the Warlock Base Class

Hit Die : d6

Class Skills : Concentration, Decipher Script, Diplomacy, Gather Information, Heal, Knowledge (Arcana), Knowledge (Nature), Knowledge (Planes), Sense Motive, Spellcraft, Survival

Skill Points Per Level : 4 + Int Modifier (x4 at 1st Level)

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies : Elemental Avatars are proficient with all simple weapons. They are not proficient with any types of armor or shields. Armor of any type interferes with an avatars gestures, which can cause their manipulations to fail.

Special Abilities

AC Bonus : (As the Monks AC Bonus ability) Wisdom bonus to Armor Class when unarmored and unencumbered.

Bending : (As the Warlocks Eldritch Blast ability) May add one Shape Manipulation and one Elemental Manipulation. However, each time you use a Shape Manipulation and/or an Elemental Manipulation, it uses a Least Manipulation slot. Therefore, performing a Bending that does fire damage and is cone shaped, would consume two Least Manipulation slots.

Shape Manipulations : (As the Warlocks Shape Invocations) Shape Manipulations are gained freely at levels 1, 6, 11, and 16.

Least, Lesser, Greater, and Greatest Manipulations : (As the Warlocks Invocations) All Manipulations are Wisdom based. You cannot obtain a higher level Manipulation in any category on the Element Charts without obtaining the lower level Manipulations first. (i.e. An avatar must be able to use Fireburst and Fireball, before being allowed access to Greater Fireburst) There is one Elemental Manipulation available for each Element Chart. Unlike the Warlock however, an Avatar is limited, by his experience and abilities, with regards to how many Manipulations he can perform in one day of each particular level. These limitations are as follows...

Least Manipulations: Can perform a number per day equivalent to 10 + Avatar Level + Wisdom Modifier
Lesser Manipulations: Can perform a number per day equivalent to Avatar Level + Wisdom Modifier
Greater Manipulations: Can perform a number per day equivalent to 1/2 Avatar Level + Wisdom Modifier
Greatest Manipulations: Can perform a number per day equivalent to Wisdom Modifier

Hmmm... interesting.

Though you still need to clarify a thing:
- How do the manifestations work ? Does the bender actually cast the spell ?

Aside from that, it's a good start.

The manipulations are cast like other arcane spells. The idea though, is that the corresponding element has to be present to be manipulated. It should also be noted though, that in the show, the fire element is something that comes from within the bender, the air element is always around to be bent, and the water element, if necessary, could be pulled from the air. However, the earth element is constrained by the necessity of earth or stone to be present, and some water element spells operate in the same manner, because only a limited amount of water could be pulled from the air, thus one couldn't perform a Tsunami out of nowhere, which I think is already listed in the spell description.

Where did you get alot of these spells? I see some from the PHB, but electronic jolt?

I might try to work some of the Elemental Savant class features from Complete Arcane into the class. Or at least haev some way of entering the prestige class.

Electric Jolt and possibly some of the other spells you are referring to are from the Spell Compendium.

In addition, if you allow the Manipulations to qualify as the spells that they are based upon, the Elemental Avatar should be able to evolve into the Elemental Savant Prestige Class.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look at some of that Prestige Classes bonuses also.

Greatest issue: Healing with warlock mechanics. This is endless and repeated cures, heals, and *shudder* true resurrections.

There is a reason that the warlock is an arcane and not a divine class
