Ashin's Commission, RA Style--Michael Alone

Rystil Arden

First Post
(OOC: This is the thread to continue the Ashin's Commission adventure for Michael Grannion, who is amongst the Fallonese armies. I shall pick up with this once I reread the SBLOCKs with Michael in them and make the other thread)

*Michael is awakened roughly by the shock of water splashed on his face. Looking up groggily, he sees another soldier who he doesn't recognise.*

"Get dressed and ready, you. I'm to take you to the lieutenant to get your message. Right then, come on."

Michael dresses quickly and looks inquiringly at the soldier for the ettiquette about weapons and armor in the presence of the captain.
He doesn't even waste time asking about prayers, shaving, or face washing.

Knew I should have gotten up before dawn. Lucky I didn't get a boot in the groin.

(OOC: Remind me, when does Michael pray for spells, usually? If he's usually dawn and he skips it, he's still missing I believe the spell he swapped for a Cure yesterday, but Calm Emotions SLA comes back automatically for free)

*The soldier seems to have his weapon sheathed but at hand and his shield not yet on guard but to his side where he could ready it easily. Of course, the soldier might not be held to the same standards as Michael in this matter.*

As with most good clerics, Michael prays a little before dawn, finishing his mediations as the sun rises fully, but I guess I've never thought dawn required split-second accuracy. Sela's time frame is geologically proportioned: five minutes either way is no big deal.
If it's a choice between praying and making the captain wait, the captain waits.
If Michael can wait until after he's seen the captain to pray (and regain spells) he does that.

Michael elects to leave his weapons and armor until he's met with the captain.

(OOC: It does have to be on time, more-or-less. If you miss it, you don't get spells. Five minutes are probably fine either way, though. So he won't be skipping?)

Then the captain waits until Michael has finished praying.
Or, more likely, until Michael's escort beats him with the butt of his spear.
I'm not sure what Michael would do at that point. His good temper's rather under a strain.
