Amusingly, I just worked up a quick homebrew for my wife where she is basically a Anthro-St. Bernard with half-orc advantages. DNDChick's page could come in VERY handy!
 




Well, generically speaking...

A friend of mine and I have started work on a generic Furry guide that would cover weres vs furs, mannerisms, sample classes, ways of handling inter-species breeding. Pretty much the works, including a small sample setting for those too lazy to think of their own.
Of course, we actually need to write it, then find a publisher, then get it published, then work on the miriad of related books from it (a few settings based out of it, for a start).
BTB, yes, I registered just to say that...

The 2e setting Red Steel/Savage Coast had lupins (wolf-people), rakastas (cat-people), tortles (turtle-people) and various lizardmen as playable races. You could try converting those to 3e - there might already be a conversion in the conversion library.
