Edwyd smiles joyously as Rathan returns his coin. "Why... I'm touched. No, I really am. This is an incredibly kind thing you've all done! I think... yes, I think I shall give to the children every year! A truly noble cause. And she said it was the best delivery yet? I owe you gentlemen a great deal for what I'll receive tonight!" Edwyd's bellowing laugh rumbles loudly. "Call me Ed, boys. And come to Ed's for food any time, breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Thanks again, boys. This'll go to the kids, ye can be sure!" Edwyd holds up the shiny platinum and winks. Then he turns his attention back to the large crowd.
[sblock=Finishing Up: ]It looks like Phoenix is eager to wrap things up, so let's do that. Say your goodbyes to Edwyd if you want, otherwise you're free to go. Pay attention for Bront's approval of the XP and rewards.
So you know, the pie had a very weak compulsion effect on it, with a very low DC. You all passed. (It would have been interesting if one of you hadn't!) The children were susceptible to it, thanks to peer pressure and low will saves, as was Jon the Apprentice for reasons explained later. The criminal and the guard just got unlucky.
Kudos to Cludge for creating a banner out of his sword. A clever mix of intimidation and advertising, I loved it! Also, thanks AGFlynn for posting a link to your character in your post like I asked.
Nice job handling the children. I honestly had no idea what you guys were gonna do with them. Galwynn gave them money, which sort of surprised me, and then Rathan "employed" them, which was an excellent idea. I'm impressed with everybody so willingly giving up their gold for roleplaying's sake. I'm... I'm actually not just impressed, I'm proud!
In case you're curious, the blue smoke billowing from Rilithorne's Tower was a vaporized love potion that Jon, Rilithorne's apprentice, was messing with. It ruined his will save against the pie, and fortunately against Saithnar as well, even though Galwynn was attacking him. Rilithorne came out and cast a counterspell to stop the whole block from becoming infatuated.
Nice touch with the light spell, Rathan. And the whole "holy matrimony" thing was a good way to present the pie, one that I wasn't expecting.
