Does D&D have the opposite problem of Star Trek movies?

    It would appear so.

Do you guys really intend to switch over to 4E when it comes?

It's just me 'cause I don't intend to leave 3.5, but that would be heartbreaking.

Based on what I've seen so far, no, I won't be switching.

I'm also unlikely to be switching, for a number of reasons - what I've seen so far, the sheer number of 3.5 books I own being just two.

Then again I never bought any 1e or 2e AD&D books but moved from BECMI/RC D&D straight to 3e.

    Yes and no.

I fully intend to buy the 4E core books and start a new campaign using the new rules. (And who am I kidding, I'll most likely be buying all of the 4E books as they come out, just like I did with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3.5th edition...)

But I don't intend to switch my current campaign over to the new rules. It seems as if 4E is different enough that that would be jarring. We'll most likely continue that campaign using the 3.5 rules until it reaches it's natural end.

You know, I will probably check out the 4e SRD whenever it's available, but I'm in no rush. I've got plenty of 3.5 stuff, and the 4e flavor changes just leave me cold.
