Privateer Press To Preview Their New Miniatures Game WARMACHINE At Gen Con 2002

August 5, 2002 (Seattle, Wash.) –Privateer Press, makers of the award winning d20 series The Witchfire Trilogy™ based on their Iron Kingdoms™ campaign setting, will be previewing WARMACHINE™ at Gen Con this year.

WARMACHINE, scheduled for a late fall 2002 release, is a fast-paced 30mm tabletop miniatures battle game, where players take on the role of elite soldier-sorcerers known as a Warcasters™. While the Warcasters are a formidable force on the battlefield, their true strength is in their ability to magically control and coordinate the mighty warjacks™– massive steam-powered combat automatons that represent the pinnacle of military might in the Iron Kingdoms world.

WARMACHINE is scheduled to release later this fall, but attendees of Gen Con will be treated to a special opportunity to purchase previews of the forthcoming miniatures game while supplies last. Privateer would not think of leaving out those unable to attend the convention, however, and will open up a temporary e-commerce site specifically for fans who are not able to make it to Milwaukee. The e-commerce site, www.privateerpress.bigstep.com will only accept orders during the same dates as Gen Con (from August 7 till August 11), offering buyers the same selection of preview miniatures available at Gen Con. This preview offer is also available to authorized retail stores in attendance at Gen Con for this limited time only. All figures offered through this promotion are un-limited and will be available through normal, world wide distribution upon WARMACHINE’s official release. Visit www.privateerpress.bigstep.com for more details.

“We are so pumped about WARMACHINE that we couldn’t wait until November before everyone had a chance to sample our game!” said Matt Staroscik, president and co-founder of Privateer Press. “We have put everything into making these the best looking miniatures on the market today, and our efforts have really paid off.”

Miniatures look fantastic. Prices seem to be fairly competitive. Glad to see they're not relying soley on the criminals at New Wave Miniatures. Man, it's going to be great to be at Gen Gon with a bill for miniatures I've never received. Great!

Well, let me say that the miniatures are fantastic. I took several pics of the minis in action and should have some updates at OgreCave soon.
