Summoned from around Faerun you meet in secret, in a small walled manor in Sembia, a stones throw away from the border of Cormyr. Within the bowels of this snake-infested manor you report for your latest assignment to your Yaun-Ti master Vvranthis. A snake-headed Abomination of great cunning and influence, Vvranthis has been charged with the infiltration of Cormyr as it continues it's recovery from the recent loss of it's king and an invasion of humanoids.

Vvranthis whose serpentine body lays coiled around a Yaun-Ti resting pole gazes evenly at you, as you shape shifts from the serpent form required to enter this hidden room to your normal humanoid bodies. Bowing in acknowledge of both the superiority of his form and position you remain silent as you eagerly await your next assignment.

"We are pleased with your efforts on behalf of the Vrael Olo*" he says with a marked sibilance due to his forked tongue.
* Vrael Olo is what the Yaun-Ti call their race.

"You have been chosen for a special assignment. You will infiltrate an ancient Cult whose plans are at odds with our own. There you will rise to positions of authority so as to discover the true goals of this cult."

"To enable you to coordinate your efforts and to keep in touch with us, you will be given a special symbionts to facilitate communication. Use of the symbionts is physically draining, and it will only allow you to communicate with symbionts from the same spawning pool, so use it sparingly. You will be expected to contact us on a weekly basis to inform us of your progress and of any developments."

"Further information will be given to you by Zathris"
As Vvranthis speaks the name of Zathris one of the many serpents that form the sinuous carpet which covers the floor of this room, transforms into his Pure Blood form.

Seemingly dismissing you from his attention Vvranthis closes his eyes and coils himself more fully around the resting pole and sinks into apparent slumber.

Gesturing for you to follow him away from the slumbering abomination, you gather around a wooden table and sit yourselves down in chairs more suitable to your humanoid forms and listen as Zathris provides you more information.
[sblock=Cult of the Elder Elemental Eye]
  • The Cult is split into four temples each of which venerate one of the four elements. Competition between the temples is encouraged.
  • The Cults leaders are called Doomdreamers but nothing else is known about them
  • The Cult was involved in constructing a Temple of Elemental Evil some years ago, but the Temple was destroyed twice and has since been abandoned by the cult.
  • The current head quarters of the Cult is in a dormant volcano (called Stalagos) which is part of the Thunder Peaks.
  • The outer rim of the volcano (called the Crater Ridge Mines) is controlled by the four elemental temples, with some areas remaining wild.
  • The leadership of the Cult is on a small island in the center of the crater. The island is surrounded by water and is known as lake Stalagos.
  • The volcanos was once inhabited by Dwarves, which the Cult subsequently destroyed.
  • The Cults HQ's is called The Temple of All Consumption.
  • It has been arranged for you to 'recruited' into various parts of the Crater Ridge Mines.
[/sblock]
[sblock=Symbionts]To activate the symbionts the host sends a telepathic message to the symbionts commanding it to link with the desired target. The host then sends the intended message (as per the sending spell) which the targets symbionts receives and stores until it's host is ready to listen to the message.

Sending a message is physically draining, each message sent causes 2 points of non-lethal damage to the host who sent the message. Every message sent after the first continues to causes (2 +1 per previous message sent, two messages causes 5pts[2+3] of non-lethal damage while four messages would cause 14pts[2+3+4+5] of non-lethal damage) non-lethal damage. This Non-lethal damage heals at the normal rate.

The symbionts also acts as a living recorder of all that you see and hear, if someone dies it is imperative that their symbionts be recovered.[/sblock]
After the symbionts are inserted into your intestinal tract and you are debriefed by Zathris you spend the next two waiting to be infiltrated into the Cults Head Quarters.

8th Hammer, 1372DR (Year of Wild Magic)
Smuggled from Sembia through High Dale to Cormyr you travel to Thunderstone to meet up with two wagons carrying supplies bound for the temple. Expected by the leader of the small caravan you mingle with the other guards and new recruits and quickly fall into a routine of travel and guard duty. Heading North East into the Thunder Peaks you travel for a day along the road before turning off onto a mountain trail which heads up further in the mountains.

Asking a few discreet questions you learn that the road leads to a place called Rastor. Rastor is a rough little community which has a population of just over a hundred. Apparently Rastor is an unusual place in that the mainly Human and Dwarven population lives in apparent peace with a local tribe of Orcs. As such Rastor is home to both Orcs and Half Orc's.

Travelling for another hour the mountain trail brings you closer and closer to your goal, the dormant volcano called Stalagos which houses the hidden temple. Further on the path divides in two. Stopping briefly the small party is divided in two and the wagons (with people in tow) continue on to the two entrances of The Temple of All Consumption.
[sblock=Analya]
Analya travels to the southern entrance(which is controlled by the Air Temple) of the temple and is quickly ushered with the others into a wide natural cave, thru double wooden doors (that has a leering devils face above them) into a large hall that is high. Iron sconces holding lit torches all along it's length. The walls are made of dark basalt stone stacked carefully, but the floor is polished and smooth with a long black and red rug that is embroidered with scenes of despicable debauchery and foul activities conducted by mortals and demons alike.

The wagon is parked under a platform near the back of the room that serves as a snipers nest. Analya along with the others helps to unpack and store the goods. That job done she is given an armed escort thru the western portion of the Crater Ridge Mines to her destination. The Western Bridge Complex.

Analya is lead into a large chamber that appears to be a feasting hall. Four long tables with benches on either side fill most of the central part of the room. The Southwest 15 feet of the room is raised 1 foot above the rest of the hall. A throne-like wooden chair is pushed up against the southwest wall, carved with images of fire and torment. A long iron chain is connected to the wall and is linked to a fiendish looking wolf. Standing on the other side of the throne is a Troll wearing spiked half-plate armour which carries a huge greatsword strapped to his back. Seated on the throne-like chair is a being which is truly frightening to behold. D'Gran leader of the Western Bridge Complex.

Standing 10 feet tall D'Gran has long curved horns, blue black scales which cover two-thirds of his body, large batlike wings and piercing yellow eyes. He wears a green kilt and a wide belt covered in copper plates. Around his neck you notice an amulet in the shape of an upside down triangle which is separated into parts by an inverted upside down yellow Y. (This appears to be the symbol of the temple as all the guards that you've seen have this symbol somewhere upon their uniform) Attached below this symbol is a red lozenge.

As Analya walks forward to report to her new commander she notices that she has become the center of attention of those who're eating in the hall. As Analya approaches she notices that the piercing stare of D'Gran remains locked on her, while he idly strokes the head of the fiendish wolf.[/sblock]
[sblock=Bresh]
Bresh travels to the southern entrance(which is controlled by the Air Temple) of the temple and is quickly ushered with the others into a wide natural cave, thru double wooden doors (that has a leering devils face above them) into a large hall that is high.

Bresh along with the others helps to unpack and store the goods. That job done he is given an armed escort thru the eastern portion of the Crater Ridge Mines to his destination. The Fire Temple.

Bresh is escorted thru some of the wild sections of the mines until he reaches the preserve of the Fire Temple. Where he is handed over to the local guards, one of whom escorts him thru a smoky filled room (which he's told to run thru) thru a torture room (manned by a crazed looking gnome) to a red curtain with an amber diamond on it. The guard ducks quickly into the room and returns moment later smirking as he speaks to Bresh "The Mistress will see you now." he says with a leer and a wink before opening the curtain to allow him entry.

Entering the cave Bresh notice that it is a lavishly furnished bedchamber. A sumptuous bed is in the middle of the room, dishevelled with red satin blankets and pillows. A large ebony wardrobe rest against the east wall next to a vanity with a large mirror atop it a wooden coat rack. A large wooden chest bound in iron straps and sealed with a massive padlock sits against the west wall. Next to the chest are a small black marble-top table and a pair of padded chairs. The table holds a silver service set, with steam rising from the hot food and drink. The caves walls have been painted with red streaks to give the impression of fire.

Seated at one of the chairs is lovely looking human female that has long black hair with red ends, wearing form hugging hooded ochre robes. The hood of the robe is currently thrown back revealing her long slender neck which is covered in a tattoo of red flames. Around her neck she wears the symbol of the Fire Temple a red lozenge.

One of her shapely legs is revealed by the folds of her robes. As Bresh enters she looks up at him in a speculative manner before rising smoothly to he feet to greet him. Holding out her right hand with her palm facing, Bresh notices that her right hand is muscular and sinewy is covered in fine red scales and has a large clawed hand. She speaks to Bresh in a deep throaty voice. "Welcome Bresh I'm Tessimon High Priest of the fire temple" smiling prettily she licks her lips seductively while gazing into Bresh's eyes.[/sblock]
[sblock=Jerome]
Jerome travels to the southern entrance(which is controlled by the Air Temple) of the temple and is quickly ushered with the others into a wide natural cave, thru double wooden doors (that has a leering devils face above them) into a large hall that is high.

Jerome along with the others helps to unpack and store the goods. That job done he is given an armed escort thru the eastern portion of the Crater Ridge Mines to his destination. The Eastern Bridge Complex.

Jerome is led thru the complex by one of the local guards who takes him to the door of the commander of this complex, Eeridik. Knocking once Jerome is then told to enter by the voice within. Opening the door Jerome's notes that the room resembles more a nest than a bed chamber, the creature who lives in this room obviously thrives on garbage. rotting food, scraps of cloth and wood, bits of jagged metal, and faeces cover the floor. Something has created a mound, not unlike a burrow in the center of this junk.

Emerging from the nest is a medium sized humanoid covered in short brown fur, possessing the head and tail of a large rat. The rat-man is a wiry hairy creature who was a necklace of rat skulls around his neck, metal bracers on his arms and has a belt that holds a dagger and a wand. The rat-man walks towards Jerome and stops a few feet away, his cunning eyes lock upon Jerome as his rat-like noses twitches as it takes in Jerome's scent. "I am Eeridik Master of the Eastern Bridge complex"[/sblock]
[sblock=Kenneth]
Kenneth travels to the southern entrance(which is controlled by the Air Temple) of the temple and is quickly ushered with the others into a wide natural cave, thru double wooden doors (that has a leering devils face above them) into a large hall that is high.

Kenneth along with the others helps to unpack and store the goods. That job done you are escorted to leader of the Air Temple.

Led to a large chamber Kenneth notices that it is quiet except for distant whispering, as if the air plays about the ears of anyone in strange almost sinister ways. A 15 foot-high square dias, with a set of steps in either side command this room. The dias and steps are made of gleaming white marble, with silvery inlay.

The south wall bears a life-sized relief of a whirlwind engulfing humans, elves, dwarves, halflings and gnomes, tossing them about like dolls. The north wall has a procession of eight white and silver tapestries, each depicting a demonic creature more terrible and horrible than the last. As Kenneth enter he notice that the room is filled with an invigorating unholy energy.

Stepping down from the altar is a bald, short, overweight man with a dark goatee beard. He wears ochre coloured robes with a long silver sash in addition to his Air Temple symbol. As he approaches Kenneth he stares with suspicion in his eyes "Who are you and what do you want?" he says with distrust evident his in tone.[/sblock]
[sblock=Gilgalis]
Gilgalis travels to the western entrance of the temple and is quickly ushered with the others into a large natural cave, thru double wooden doors (one of which has a humanoid skull on a spike) into a large hall. The hall is wide and long, the walls plastered taupe with murals of demons, human sacrifice, devilish revelry, monsters destroying and devouring humans, and people being ravaged by the power of wind, whirlpools, blazing flames and landslides. These disturbing scenes continue down the entire length of the subterranean avenue. Immediately in front of the doors to the west , four symbols are placed in mosaic in the floor: a silvery white circle, a brown triangle, an amber-red diamond, and a blue-green square.

The wagon is parked in the room. Gilgalis along with the others helps to unpack and store the goods. That job done he is given an armed escort thru the western portion of the Crater Ridge Mines to his destination. The Water Temple.

Gilgalis is lead thru the temple by a local guard to a throne room. A massive throne made of white and pink shells, coral and bones sits atop a platform of green marble with blue streaks in the southern end of this cavern. Two silver platters, covered in cooked fish, crustaceans and vegetables, sit on small stands in front of the monumental chair. Flanking the throne on either side stands a 4-foot gray marble statue of a fish headed humanoid with a spear.

Seated upon the throne is a stern faced woman with dyed-green hair and a crown of coral on her head. Her robes are ochre and she wears a blue-green sash as well as the symbol of the water temple. In her right hand she holds an ornate mace almost as if it were a sceptre. "I am Kelashein High Priest of the Water Temple. You must be the new recruit that I was promised."
[/sblock]
[sblock=Romam]
Romam travels to the western entrance of the temple and is quickly ushered with the others into a large natural cave, thru double wooden doors (one of which has a humanoid skull on a spike) into a large hall.

Romam along with the others helps to unpack and store the goods. That job done he is given an armed escort thru the western portion of the Crater Ridge Mines to his destination. The Northern Bridge Complex

Romam is lead thru the complex by a local guard to the Great Hall. The large, irregular shaped room holds six long wooden tables each flanked by benches. At the head of two tables sit ornate, padded chairs. Tapestries of red gold hang on the plaster-covered walls, and red and gold carpets run along the sides of the room as well as in between the tables. Seated around the tables are a smattering of humans and elves.

Seated in one of the padded chairs is a wiry looking bald dwarf which has gray skin and white hair eating a tasty looking meal of roasted lamb served with roast potatoes, vegetables and bread. Looking up from his meal he gazes at Romam, evaluating his worth. "You're the new recruit I expect" he says in strangely accented common. "The names Oamarthis. I run this complex." [/sblock]

Gilgalis quickly takes an assessment of the situation. It seems odd that he would be brought before the high priestess alone, this indicates that there is something special she has in mind for him. Kelashein herself seems to be an authoritative personality of little humor, at least on the surface. In time perhaps, as he gains her trust, he can change that. In any case, now is the time for him to make a good first impression.

Gilgalis bows low to the high priestess. "My lady. I hope that I shall prove to be of assistance. If it is not too bold to ask, for what reason have you honored me with with this personal audience?"

Kenneth bows slightly to the fat man, who he assumes will be his boss at the Air Temple - for the moment.

"Kenneth Spire, at your service" he says. "I am a sorcerer of sorts, and I seek employment with potential for advancement. Air is life" (he says the last in Auran) "and when I heard about the Air Temple I realized that this cult to the most powerful of elements was just what I was looking for. I am pleased to see that you associate youselves with beings of power" (indicating the imagery on the walls). "I am a good planner and hope to serve you in many capacities. And you are?"

Bresh gives his best smile. "This is already starting out better than I expected," he thinks to himself. He looks over the priestess' arm for a moment trying to figure out the cause and whether he's ever heard the name Tessimon before.

"Mistress, (he gives small bow and moves to kiss her hand) I am here to serve you in whatever needs you may have."

"It seems you're honoured too easily...." Kelashein says with a trace of humour evident in her voice obviously waiting for Gilgalis to reveal his name.

"Well Gilgalis whether or not you will be of use to me, has yet to be determined. Tell me, what skills do you possess that will be of use to the Water Temple, and why do wish to serve us."

The fat mans look of suspicion doesn't change one iota at Kenneth's introduction although he did seem somewhat surprised that Kenneth could speak Auran.

Looking Kenneth over as a small boy might examine an interesting bug he then speaks to Kenneth in fluent Auran "I am Fachish High Priest of the Air Temple. I suggest you prove yourself useful and perform your duties well Kenneth, otherwise you'll find yourself sacrificed on that altar. Have I made myself clear!"

Bresh recognises that Tessimon's right arm has been replaced with a fiendish graft, as he kisses her clawed hand Bresh notices that Tessimon shivers in delight and his words causes Tessimon's smile to grow wider. "You're here to serve all of my needs! I like the sound of that"

Stepping up close to Bresh she caresses Bresh's face with her fiendish hand, cupping the back of Bresh's head she guides his face down with irresistible force then kisses him passionately.

Hours later Bresh emerges from Tessimon's bedchambers exhausted, limping noticeably, hair tousled with painful claws marks on various parts of his body(4 pts of damage). As he looks around the torture room the mad gaze of the gnome locks briefly onto Bresh before returning to the ministrations of his victim, a human man of about 30 years.

Somewhat in a daze Bresh failed to notice the approach of the same smirking guard until he was right upon him. "So how did your meeting go. Bresh." he says with humour evident in his voice. "Don't expect it to last, it never does. And when the mistress has had her full of you, I suggest you stay on her good side unless you want to end up like Old Davie over there" he says pointing to the man being tortured. Taking another look Bresh now notices the remnants of a guards uniform.

Slapping Bresh painfully on the back the guard leads Bresh out of the room "I'm John by the way, I'll make sure you get your kit and get you settled in."

Kenneth nods and replies in Auran, forming the whistling sounds carefully "You are wise to judge a man by his deeds rather than his words. What will be my first assignment?"

While the high priestess' reaction was somewhat disappointing, it seemed that he had at least managed to pierce the surface of her personality and make a good impression on her. He smiles slightly and gives her a small nod. "We all need others; no mortal can live in this world completely alone. I believe that the temple of water is the place for me; water sustains life, both plant and animal, its power is undeniable. As for what I can offer you, my lady. I am afraid I am not one for violence and conflict, why kill an enemy when you could instead turn them to your side? If there is any issue which you wish to solve without violence, I will do my utmost to fulfill your desire.”
