When she flies she leaves a trail of rainbow like colored lights behind her. This is something like waving a lightstick through the air in the dark. The energy that Lightspeed releases while flying is visible behind her for no more than a minute. Lightspeed might use this power to swarm around an enemy's head at great speeds, allowing her trail to blind or confuse the enemy. She might also use this power to barrel into an enemy, hoping to knock them over with force and speed, or perform a trip attempt. The nature of the power prevents Lightspeed from being able to hover.[/SBLOCK]

Biography

Julie Power once belonged to a super team quintet called Power Pack that included her two brothers (Alex and Jack), her younger sister (Katie), and their family friend Franklin Richards. Together they fought crime, repelled space invaders, diverted disaster, and saved the world. However, the most extraordinary thing about this group was that all of them were kids.

Her and her siblings received their powers when they discovered a falling object in the sky crash near their summer home. Upon investigation, they found a wounded alien from an equestrian-like race known as the Kimillians. Before this alien died, he passed on to them a warning about an impending disaster that would surely destroy Earth. He subsequently charged them with the task of saving the planet and bestowed upon them his super-kimillian abilities to aid them in their task.

Although they succeeded in saving the world, their powers stayed with them. They felt it was their personal responsibility to use their powers for good and justice (and also a little adventure) and accomplished tasks that normally only adult super-humans would challenge. However, after time it became increasingly difficult to keep their secret identities hidden from the world and their parents. Through their endeavors of heroism they managed to build a wealthy supply of enemies (some of whom were super-villains). Add on top of that the normal pressures of emerging adolescence and the trivial nuances of sibling rivalry, the children began using their powers as an escape from their mundane world and an outlet for their frustrations.

It wasn’t until they battled with the Queen of the Z’nrxs, an ancient reptilian race of tyrants, that Julie learned the true meaning of tragedy. In the confrontation, all of her siblings were lost, each dying in slow painful ways. As they died, she somehow absorbed their powers and managed to defeat the Queen, but her loss weighed heavily upon her. She knew that although they had these incredible powers, they were not mentally and emotionally equipped to deal with the life of a superhero. They were reckless thrill-seekers, and their - her – irresponsibility led to their deaths.

Julie returned home to finally, after a year of subterfuge, reveal her powers to parents and bring them the sad news that she is now an only child. Her parents, stricken with grief and horror at the two-fold herald of tragedy, went into shock. They disowned her as an aberration of nature, cursed her very existence, and finally went insane.
Forsaken, Julie was turned out into the world with no home and no family. She did, however, make a few allies with the New Mutants, Fantastic Four, and the X-Men. It was from them that she learned about the school for exceptional students where the students were mutants, and “gifted” like her. Julie had no other place to go.

Personality
Julie is a hopeless romantic and a dreamer. She enjoys spending her time in more artistic disputes, joining clubs and organizations that promote creativity. Her hobbies include reading fantasy books, writing fantasy themed stories and poems, participating in role-playing games and acting workshops, and also studying art. She dreams of one day being an artist like her mother or a writer of fiction novels. Although she is now a few years older and wiser from the fateful day that changed her life, Julie is still a little reckless and wild. Often times she forgets to not use her powers, and has been chided by her professors to reserve them for the proper time and place.

Alias
Julie goes by the super-hero alias Lightspeed, a throwback from the days when she used to adventure with her siblings. Although the name was suppose to represent her original power of being able to fly at great speed and do various things faster then normal, it now seems inadequate. She is searching for a new name that would better define her powers as well as her personality.

Limitations
Julie has lost some of her powers since taking on the powers of her siblings; as well she has not been able to utilize them with the same effectiveness. I would like to represent this as a role-playing drawback. As she advances in power she should learn to control them better and expand on their capabilities. Below is a list of the powers she does not have access to yet.
  • Teleportation: Julie was once able to use her Lightspeed powers to generate a teleport extended distances without any visible sign of exhaustion
  • Forcefield: When she once had the density power before, she learned to use the power to create a forcefield that could shield herself and others from damage. She also could create a cushion of bubbles out of herself that could be used to soften blows or quell a rough landing.
  • Hovering: Katie was able to refine the flight power to allow hovering.
  • Density Blast: Jack was able to use his powers of molecular control to project a blast of dense air as a weapon.
  • Disintegration: Disintegrate more matter then her body would normally allow. Alex was able to disintegrate a 30ft tall robot once. In a future world, Katie learned to convert the stored energy more effectively, being able to absorb more matter and emit a more lethal, accurate beam of energy.
  • Healing: Julie use to be able to allow the rapid healing affect to be automatic.

Alternate Universe
After doing some research on the web, I found that the series of Power Pack continued long after it was initially cancelled. In fact, their series is still alive today in form of special mini stories that include other popular Marvel heroes. In our universe, I decided to take an alternate timeline in which they have defeated the Z'nrx Queen, but at the cost of the lives of Alex, Jack, and Katie.

Nicolas tends towards the most trendy of fashions, keeping up to date with the styles worn by the rich and the famous. Indeed his fashion sense knows little boundry, able to duplicate any bit of clothing he sees with minimum effort, he has an almost endless wardrobe, often seen wearing upwards of a dozen outfits in a day until he finds one he most appriciates.

His hair too is worn in a variety of ways. Shoulder length he tends to style it to match the type of outfits he would be wearing for the day, be it a braid, ponytail, or simply leaving it loose.

Physically he was rather weak, Relying on his mutant power since it manifested, he rarely engages in physical activity save short term jogging, Though he keeps himself flexible and in shape via a regimen of Yoga and Tai Chi, his body lacking the rippling muscles of many other students, replaced simply with a lithe, athletic figure.

Powers
Nicolas's power, more than his startling good looks, his humorous nature or his mastery of crafting was what made him such a rising star at the Xavier mutant academy. And rightfully so.

Nicolas is noted as being an Omega level mutant. Like iceman, Jean grey, Magnito and others, Nicolas is unparalleled in his control and ability to reshape matter, and even at a young age is displaying unlimited potential in that regards.

This does not of course mean he is any more powerful than current mutants, indeed while Nicolas has such a well of untapped potential, he has less control over the powers he does have than many other mutants at the school, his power flaring unexpectedly at times, changing tons of equipment when his desire was to fix a bent spoon.

Nicolas has only one main power. Transformation. This power allows him to take any existing non-living material and rearrange it into any other. So far he is still limited in this regards, he as yet cannot change the molecular structure of matter to change it to a different type. While he could change a bit of coal into a diamond, he cannot change street concrete into adamentine.

His power also requires a line of effect between him and his target. Traditionally Nicolas will place his hand on an object and trace a line of solid or liquid matter between himself and the target.

His power extends to a protective sort of force field. When attacked Nicolas instictively transmutes any object he is touching into a defensive block, be it the ground he is standing on, the wall he bumped or the like. He is thus very vunerable in the air.

Nicolas also has a direct connection to anything he touches. Without effort he instinctively knows the chemical composition and amount of any matter within 3000 feet.

Finally, Nicolas does affect living creatures with his transmutation. As of yet he has been unable to master modification of living beings due to some paticular aspect of them he has not been able to place. Whatever the cause, any attempt to transmute biological matter results in their molecular structure beinging to break down and evaporate.

Background

Nicolas was a relitively normal American boy. Well liked he was considered a child prodigy in regards to crafting, winning prizes for art, mechanics, construction and so forth. His mutant power manifested violently at the age of 12, frustration over a difficult mechanical project completing it in seconds.

He came to the attention of Xavier in short order. His parents were at their wits end with the abilites of their son, their house a work of art and science as the boy spent more and more time crafting things that would take years to build by hand.

It was at this point that Nicolas was recognized for the power he was, brought to the mansion almost immediately he has very rarely left the grounds since, and on those few occations he has, it has been in the company of one or more of the x-men.

Xavier believed, and rightly so that a mutant with such a peculiar ability would be a target for every supervillian with a crack scheme the world over. Though he does not speak often of it, Nicolas was once attacked on the grounds by a b-list super villan, the man insisting that Nicolas help him build his "Death ray."

In the four years Nicolas has been at the institute he has developed an immense reputation as a powerful mutant, an excellent student, and somewhat of a lady killer, going through girlfriends with nearly the same abandon he does his clothing. Some attribute this to his rather cloistered upbringing, and it is a concern for some of his teachers, that this young man may be getting a little 'too' spoiled.

Alias
Nicolas goes by the mutant name of Alchemist whenever speaking with students or engaged in danger room exercises. He does like his natural name, and responds to both equally, though his closest friends tend to call him Nicolas.[/sblock]

Background: Molly Hayes comes from a typical wealthy family of doctors, with nothing to distinguish her from other young girls... at least at first glance. She's recently manifested mutant powers that allow her to become massively strond and durable... but only for a limited time. Young and inexperienced, she's about to enter her first year at Xavier's academy. Molly was sent to the academy to gain control over her powers, and possibly strengthen them.

What she doesn't know is that her parents are mutants themselves, with psychic powers, who are members of a secret society called The Pride, who are responsible for a good bit of the crime and evil in the world today. Under different circumstances, she might have already learned about this... but let's not worry about hypotheticals. Her parents plan to reveal the secret to Molly when she turns eighteen, but until then she remains in the dark. Part of the reason they decided to send her to the Academy was to make her efficient in combat and other skills to help the family business

Mutant with skeletal structure that provides a visible plating protection, and the ability to grow spikes at will. He's a tough fighter, and is not afraid to take chances.

Background Info
[sblock=]Spike is a mutant with ability to grow spikes at will, using them for defense, breaking them off as projectiles, and doubling as melee weapons. On a rogue mission, Logan stumbled upon another of Weapon X's facilities, long since abandoned. After a few hours, he then found that it was not totally abandoned. There was a substructure, with lab's still showing a basic power grid. That is where he found a lone person, Spike.

Not knowing any better, Logan thought to simply leave, yet found that the boy was in stasis, still alive, but under a coma-like sleep. He retrieved the body, and returned to the Mansion. With the help of the Professor and Jean, Spike was brought back to the here and now. Logan was his immediate mentor, wanting to know more about the boy and his exploits with the Weapon X program than anything else. It would appear that his memories were erased by a powerful mutant. Now, being a teenager, and not sure what he is, Wolverine has taken him as a student, with Logan being his mentor.

He is a quick learner, and his abilities have only enhanced since meeting Wolverine. He had similar abilities as Wolverine, with the regen ability, enhanced senses, and an altered skeletal structure not unlike Wolverine's. He did not have the adamantium altered structure though, as his bone as a lot more dense naturally. Spike also found that he could effectively 'grow' his skeletal structure out at will, and not just his spiked forearm. Unfortunately, with this skeletal structure, he has plates in various parts of his body, form the protruding protection that his skeletal structure provides. Some would think it freaky and gross, but others find it fascinating.

It would also appear that Wolverine's knack for rule breaking, living on the edge, and simply taking chances has rubbed off, as this kid learns from the best. He's also got the ability to fight as Logan has shown him a few tricks, and he's not too scared to use them.[/sblock]

HISTORY
Hiya. Well. My name's Serena Weaver, but most folks call me Sparky or Sparks for short on account of me being able to generate and control electricity. Y'know the one liner about an electrical personality? Heh. Well that's me.

It all started a few years ago when me and my lil bro Darien were walking back to the base one night. I think I was around twelve at the time and my brother was nine. Brother's are such pains.... Anyway we were jumped by these guys, gang bangers really and I got scared because these guys were gonna hurt us bad since we didn't have any money on us. I started to tingle like crazy, it felt kinda like when your foot is asleep and waking up, but all over. It was freaky....

And when they started to close in with knives and guns, there was this bright flash of electricity that stunned them pretty good, letting me and Darien escape. We ran like heck for the base.... Did I tell you my parents are both Marines? So no jokes about mama wearing army boots. That'll getcha a black eye or a bride of Frankenstein hairdo. Marines are way tougher than Army Rangers.

Well, since then I've been practicing. I think I'm pretty good now, but when Xavier sent some folks down to talk to me, I kinda realized it'd be nice not to have to hide what I am, so I wouldn't be used as a lab rat or stoned or something. So I agreed to come. Lookit this, my bro made it for me, it's a metallic cloth disk. When I electrify it, I can fly on it. Not to shabby huh?
