[Edit: Latest version available here.]

Here is the September update of my monster index. With the addition of the last few paper issues of Dragon & Dungeon magazines, and all of the early run of White Dwarf now checked, I think I'm ready to finally call this a complete index of all D&D creatures ever

Updates since the last release:
  • Added Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk
  • Added Dragon #357-#359 and Dungeon #150 (the last of the printed magazines! :()
  • Added the chinese hill giants from Lost Caverns of Tsojconth
  • Added White Dwarf #4, #5, #6, #9, #10, #11, #12, #14, #15, #16, #18, #54
  • Added Best of White Dwarf Articles Volume II
  • Added Svimohzia: the Ancient Isle
  • Added Athas.org's Life-Shaping Handbook
Also, for this version of the index, I updated the accompanying list of D&D Sources to include all of the various D&D novels and comics which have been produced over the years. That part of the spreadsheet still isn't a totally comprehensive list of all D&D products ever, but I think it is still a handy reference tool in its own right.

Here's an overview of what is included in the index:
  • D&D products published by Wizards of the Coast
  • D&D monsters published on the Wizards of the Coast web site
  • D&D Miniatures cards
  • Dragon magazine 1-359 (and Annuals)
  • Dungeon magazines 1-150
  • Polyhedron magazines 1-148
  • Imagine magazines 1-30 (and Special Edition)
  • D&D products published by TSR
  • 1st and 2nd Edition AD&D products published by TSR/Wizards of the Coast
  • Al-Qadim AD&D products published by TSR

You work fast if you already got my conversions in there... As always, this is a really nice resource. Thanks!

You are a complete lunatic. This is amazing. I'm going to be playing around with this thing all day.

I think WotC needs to hire you as a data-collection guy for the Digital Initiative.

Between Echohawk's monster index and Alzrius's "every deity ever" file, we have some incredible resources around these parts.

What I'd really like to see is a comprehensive index of all the D&D maps that have been published over the years. I frequently need to find just the right map to suit the temple/ruins/cavern complex I have in mind. I'm sure I have some perfect candidates tucked away in D&D books I don't remember very well, or haven't looked at in a while, but 90% of the time I end up drawing the maps from scratch.

There really needs to be a better way of finding a particular map. :uhoh:

Wouldn't the map index need to contain the maps just so you could remember which is which? After all, just saying "ruined temple" doesn't narrow things down a lot. :p

I was thinking that an indication of scale (map area: 100' x 60'), type of map ('building layout') and brief description ('ruined temple with burial area and bell-tower') would be enough to narrow the search for a suitable map down quite a lot. Not that I've been thinking about this much, of course. Um. :heh:

Echohawk,

I was using your (jolly useful) Monster Index to sort the Vaults of Pandius 3.5 conversions by CR and noticed that a few had their CR missing so here goes :-

Code:
[b]URL Monster CR[/b]
http://www.pandius.com/carnifex.html	Carnifex 4
http://www.pandius.com/cay_man.html	Cay-Man 1/2
http://www.pandius.com/zargocha.html	Changeling, Zargosian 1
http://www.pandius.com/faenare.html	Faenare 1
http://www.pandius.com/gatorman.html	Gator Man (Gurrash) 2
http://www.pandius.com/gremlin.html	Gremlin 1
http://www.pandius.com/hauntlsr.html	Haunt, Lesser varies
http://www.pandius.com/hsiao.html	Hsiao 3
http://www.pandius.com/traldari.html	Man, Isolated; Traldar 1/4
http://www.pandius.com/mpnative.html	Man, Primitive: Native 1/2
http://www.pandius.com/mpbarbrn.html	Man, Primitive; Barbarian	1/2
http://www.pandius.com/nagpa.html	Nagpa 2
http://www.pandius.com/phhydra.html	Nagpa 6
http://www.pandius.com/neshezu3.html	Neshezu 1/2
http://www.pandius.com/newt.html	Newt 1
http://www.pandius.com/pegataur.html	Pegataur 4
http://www.pandius.com/ratling.html	Ratling 1/2
http://www.pandius.com/druj.html	Spirit Possessed (Druj) 11
http://www.pandius.com/revenant.html	Spirit Possessed (Revenant)	14
http://www.pandius.com/odictemp.html	Spirit, Odic varies
http://www.pandius.com/jb_tabi.html	Tabi 3

Also looking at that the second Nagpa entry points to the pig-headed hydra - so one or the other is wrong :)

<edit>Actually not all those entries above need correcting some (such as Cay-man are already in the index with their CR - obviously just duplicate entries from when they appear in more than one source book) </edit>

Regards
Mortis
