Lulu hardcover paper weight question.

Is it just me or do Lulu hardcovers sport extremely light weight paperstock? I've ordered a few hardcovers from Lulu now and, without fail, the paperstock has always been far lighter weight than in the accompanying softcovers of the same products (which I believe use standard 20 lb paper).

This might help you:

If you believe the paper is thinner than what is described above, you should contact customer service. I've never noticed a difference on any hardcovers I've ordered, but I haven't ordered any in a while so I don't know if there have been changes.

Oh yeah. There is no way that many of the hardcovers I've ordered recently have 50# paper. I can literally see the text on backing pages when reading (and my eyesight sucks). It was this way for my Basic Fantasy RPG hardcover, JAGS hardcover, and now the Mars hardcover. The digest-sized vs Monsters deluxe, OTOH, seems to have the indicated paper weight. All of the Lulu-printed softcovers that I order have heavier weight paper than the 8.5 x 11 hardcovers. I wonder if it has something to do with the size of the book. Anyhow, thanks for the suggestion.

I'm dredging this up because I'm considering making a purchase through Lulu in the near future for the hardcover version of the Kingdom of Kalamar: Player's Guide to the Sovereign Lands. Just wondering if the issue of lightweight paper in the hardcover books was every resolved for you satisfactorily jdrakeh? And if you could comment on the quality of the binding itself?

Thanks very much! :)
