As the ships crunch together, Tommy rides the crash easily. Franz, Ivan, and Marcus also keep their feet, though Ivan windmills for a moment on the plunging stairs.

Tommy hesitates for a second, then steps forward and raises his hand. With a word, a beam of fiery light lashes out toward the enemy first mate!

Marcus swings at the pirate mate as well, taking advantage of the man's disorientation to deliver a well-placed strike.

Franz, seeing the situation fairly well in hand on the quarterdeck, steps across to the other ship and joins James in attacking the remaining elven pirate. His blow is clumsy, but it creates an opening for Ivan, who, following Franz across to the other ship, strikes the elf cleanly but without force.

Tommy steps to our A2 and casts scorching ray: ranged touch attack 1d20+0=14, 4d6=13. Includes +1 bless, -4 into melee

Marcus remains still and attacks #2: 1d20+3=21, 1d6+2=4 Includes bless. Note it's mislabeled as being against #12, should be #2. crit confirmation 1d20+3=5 presumably fails

Franz moves to pirate C9. Attack: 1d20+3=6 misses

Ivan moves to pirate C10 and attacks #12: 1d20+3=22, 1d6+2=3, includes bless, and might should be +1 more for higher ground. Crit confirmation: 1d20+3=9 presumably misses, even with higher ground. [/sblock]

Tommy's ray of fire slices into the pirate first mate, scorching his skin and creating vicious burn marks. Marcus follows up with a quick slash and dispatches the first mate with relative ease. (13 + 4 = 7 damage to P2, P2 is down)

Franz and Ivan join James, together they triple team the last standing pirate, besides the captain. Together they manage to get in a few cuts, in spite of their inexperience with their blades. (3 damage to P12)

Lenny's attack causes Seadog to gasp, shudder, and close his eyes. (Seadog is down.)

Round 7

The swashbuckling elf looks at the devastation around him. He drops his rapier and raises his hands above his head.

The captain, silent as a ghost but with the look of Ahrianna on her face, casts aside her empty potion flask. Reaching into her vest, she pulls out another flask. "My ship goes to the depths, and I go with it!" the fair elf screams, slamming the flask on the deck of her vessel. With a loud explosion, the alchemist's fire spreads flames across the dry wood and over the captain's body. (4 damage to La Capitan) The elf looks at his captain and his ship in horror.

The pirate ship has caught fire: though surrounded by water, the wood above the water level is as dry as kindling. Soon, the fire will spread to the merchant ship. (The yellow square on Pirate B3 is the fire, it is spreading at a rate of 5' per round.)

Everybody goes now, Fimble and the merchant First Mate will delay until after you.

"Franz! James! Stand aside!" Tommy hollers, running forward, arcane energies crackling at his fingertips. He jumps across to the other boat, mouthing the words to one of the first spells he learned. He extends his hand, and a ray of icy cold shooting from his fingertips at the burning floor.

Jolted into action, Ivan, Franz, and Marcus begin casting about both ships for things to help put out the fire: extra sailcloth, buckets of sand, barrels of water or beer, that sort of thing.

ooc: Tommy moves to pirate C9, which I think is 30' (If he can't get there, I think he can get to our C5, but that's less dramatic), and cast ray of frost. ranged touch attack: 1d20+4=13, 1d3=3. Not sure if that will do anything; my hopes are more pinned on a create water from Tarag.

Tarag looks at the flames wreathing his fingertips and murmurs, "Too much of that, now."

With a flick of his fingers he dismisses them, then steps forward to deal with the greater conflagration. He summons cooling rain, drenching the burning elf and her ship.

[sblock=OOC]Casts Create Water. By taking a 5 foot step to C6 he is in range, and he creates 6 gallons of water which fall as a heavy rain on the 5 foot square occupied by the pirate captain.[/sblock]Then he snaps out commands. "Will, James, tie up those pirates!"

Tommy's ray of ice cuts into the flames, extinguishing a tiny, tiny portion which is immediately re-ignited by the surrounding conflagration.

Tarag's water dumps out on top of the fire and immediately puts it out. The soaking wet captain lets out an anguished wail.
